Let me preface this with "YES, I am a big ole nerd."
Overall, I've seen a lot of sci-fi shows and a lot of straight forward dramas in my many days. Yet I've never actually been fulfilled as much by anything before Battlestar Galactica. When I heard that Scifi was remaking the old TV show I was expecting a lot of the old camp with the regular nuances of science fiction media. To my surprise it was simply put, a wonderful story with incredible performers who more than lived up to their characters. Nothing about this show has disappointed me.
I thought tonight after the final episode aired that I would be filled with so much regret over the end of this show, but it had a finale that filled every minute with worthwhile storytelling that bookended this series in such a way that I feel it really truly completed itself.
For those of you who haven't seen BSG it's probably a good bet to try and see if you can find the DVD's. It's a great story from front to back and I loved every frakkin minute of the ride.
