I took a forklift certification class on saturday. I wanna get a jump on the game for my new job. It was pretty much an expensive 4-hour defensive driving course. Because of OSHA they can't train us on any of the machinery, seeing as different employers use different types of machinery. So all they taught was general safety. And all of it was training videos.
My favorite training video was one that looked like it was directed by Sam Raimi. It had the most gratuitous use of fake blood I have seen in any film, much less a training video. Most of the time the blood was understandably present, because they were injuries that would draw blood. But the best scene was one where there was a guy driving a forklift, and another guy was riding shotgun (keeping in mind that there is only room for one person on a forklift).
When they turn a corner, the guy riding shotgun hits his knee on the corner of a stack. Now, it wasn't a sharp corner, and from a hit like that you would expect a bump, maybe a fracture or something. But he falls and starts rolling on the floor, and his knee just starts squirting blood, as if he had a jugular vein in his leg.
