Okay, so I've been on a major Stones kick lately, right? Like, I swear that's all I've been listening to.
And I'm really, REALLY digging 'Sister Morphine.' Genius. Last night, I'm putzing around, trying to avoid writing my goddamned poem (which, as it turns out, didn't suck as badly as I thought it was going to) and I thought it'd be fun to look up the lyrics. And anytime Shotgun looks up lyrics and they remind her of anythign REMOTELY having to do with 'Supernatural,' it usually results in a wallpaper. I can't help it. So here's what I came up with:
(1440x900, for the record)
I'm driving to school today, iPod's blasting, I'm singing along. I get to my policy analysis class and the professor's like, "[Shotgun]! Get up here and work this stupid computer system for me." So he tells me to Google "Sister Morphine." No, really? REALLY. It was entirely coincidental. And awesome. He had me find a video of the song so the class could listen to it, and then we talked about how it exemplifies what happens when you misinterpret a source (It's not about drug use! Not exactly), and I was all over those damn lyrics. Anyway -- AWESOME. For once, my procrastinating was actually useful!
Although I'm pretty sure more than half the class didn't know who the hell the Rolling Stones were. So sad.
