OOC: Attitudes of men towards women
I'm currently reading a book about women and families 1940-1970. In the chapter about role relationships in marriage there's an interesting sentence that I thought summed Harry up quite well:
There are some examples in the study of older husbands adopting an attitude towards their younger wives which some might describe as patronizing, but which they saw as protectve.
Harry isn't married, and he didn't take it to the extreme that one of the respondents in the study did, but even so, his protective attitude towards women is a bit patronizing sometimes, but it is well meant. If done purposely to annoy Sarah after a while :)
