(no subject)
Got a lot of exercise today. Besides the usual gym class activities I was lifting weights when I got home (400 pound dead lifting record baby!), practiced my baseball swing, and went for a walk/run. By the way, a suggestion to the people that want to talk to the guy who has headphones on and is walking on the sidewalk while you are in a car… Pick one of two things when you want to acknowledge that you have seen me. If you like me, wave your hand… and if you hate me, flip me off. None of this talking thing. You are in an automobile with a loud engine that is amplified in my ears because there are 20 cars around you… PLUS, I have headphones on. There is no way I can tell what anyone is saying to me, 99% of the time I have no clue who is talking to me. A bunch of people in a car were saying stuff to me and I had no clue if they were saying hey man or fuck you. I got a peace sign from one of them… Am I hippie now?
There are 3 types of people who would take action when they see you in the road. There are the people that like you and want to say “hey whats up!?”, then there are the people that hate you and want to say “Hey you gay fucker”, and lastly there are the weirdo’s that don’t know you at and just feel like saying “woo man, what kind of a weirdo are you walking”.
It was only the first encounter that I am complaining about. I don’t care if people hate me, but you should have the common sense to know I am not going to hear you or probably even see you while I am walking. You cant get much satisfaction out of yelling at someone who cant hear or see you while you are making fun of him. People I liked have done this before too, and I feel kind of bad. I cant hear you, and I can bearly make you out because half the time people are going 40 miles an hour down a road and yelling “SUHEY”. For people that never walk, you should know that the sidewalk has a difficult angle to see people in cars from unless they are very close to you. Plus I am outside with more intense light and you are in a vehicle which has less light. I feel bad because maybe someone thinks I hate them because I am not responding when they say hey. I’m sorry, if I realize who it is I will say hey. Just the other day I saw the Butterfly Girl and she waved at me and I at her! I even waved at the people in the car today even though I had no clue who they were, and even though they were probably making fun of me… almost slammed into a sign because of it!
The right way to say hey is to not say anything, like the other two people I encountered. Two other people just waved their hands at me. Now that makes me smile. I enjoy it when people do that. I think girls have it right, and guys are just idiots. Guys want to yell at you weather they like you or not, but the girls will just smile and wave their hands. That’s the way to do it. Even if I don’t know who it is I feel good for some reason, where when people are talking to me I feel kind of bad.
