(no subject)

(This is concerning a guest book entry someone made in my website)

...no..

I did not use FrontPage. In fact several of the pages were manually coded by myself. Frankly I didnt want to code the whole thing manually. It is a pain. I know ALL about HTML, I took several classes and even read books on the subject.

I picked the colors for this site one by one. If you dont like it, thats fine but that is your opinion and frankly considering this is not a site for you I dont give a shit about your opinion.

The music is there for a reason. If you were in my core demographic (by the way this web site is 100% designed for my core demographic if you want to talk about web design) then you would understand why the music is there. The Show Must Go On is my favorite song and thus plays on the page about myself. If you were my friend you would know that and thus you would smile when you came to that page. Thus is serves its purpose 100%. As well if you were one of the two people I wrote my friends essay for you would also appreciate Rod Stewerts Have I told you Lately that I love you song. So no, I will not be removing those songs.. sorry.

The ONLY page I see as unorganized is the index page, which once again is set up perfectly for someone who knows me they would see this picture of "ChrisVille founded..." and smile, its for them, not you.

I dont know how you got here, or why you bothered looking. This site is everything I wanted it to be (which wasnt really much). If I was making a web site selling items and wanted to keep people on one page all the time then frames would have been the right idea. However for a web site designed for my friends I frankly have faith that they can use the BACK button without getting too confused& sorry if you cant... heh

This web site was created quickly, and was designed to be the type of web site that you only visit once (and proud of it). It is not updated often, and when it is I give people links to the new pages. I have created over 40 web sites in the last year, most have no resemblance to this site. It was rather refreshing to do a project like this. One where I didn't have to care so much about design and how to make every last person happy. So please, think about that before you reducible someone's "personal" web site. Think about that before you label me as computer illiterate and not internet savvy. Perhaps there is a side of the story you didn't know, and you probably don't deserve to know because that site is my personal site for close friends and myself. Now you do know though, so maybe you will understand now why I take offense to your comments.

----UPDATE!!!!

On further review this site does indeed have some problems… in the “firefox” browser.

But come on… this site is SOOO screwed up in firefox that it is obvious that it is the browsers problem and not mine. So perhaps I should put a disclaimer up…

*THIS SITE BEST VIEWED FROM INTERNET EXPLORER*

Know this though, when you use a browser that is bearly used (although increasingly it is becoming more used) then the first thought in your mind when you see a web site being displayed funky…is that its on your end and not a default “shitty designer”. Know that most people use Internet Explorer… most of my friends use Internet Explorer… remember…who is this site designed for? MY FRIENDS AND I! I remember I had to re-do placements of images on this website over and over again so they would display right in Internet Explorer because they were misplaced even though in the GeoCities design they were right where I wanted them. Yes, so modifications were made so the site would look right in Internet Explorer… I could have made everything look perfect for Firefox, but then Internet Explorer would have looked like crap.. and then I would have had my FRIENDS come here and say my design is shit instead of someone that I don’t know.

So yes, my site may look like a design failure to YOU… but it looks fine to the people that view this site… and for your information, I hate Microsoft too…. But I don’t like firefox either…
