Fucking Insomnia
I don't know why I can't sleep, I've been a pro at it all weekend, but it's 3 AM now and I'm hyper as hell. I wish I had something productive I could do. I've been doing art history research all day, and have run out of books pertaining to my lecture subject, though I still have a list of 20 or so more to read. I don't even know if I'm getting credit for this actually, but I love it nonetheless. Let's give it up for 15th century Italian relic art depicting shards of the True Cross. Fascinating stuff, we'll see if I can pull a full lecture together by this spring though. There is so much to it, and even with half a year of study of one particular piece (la stauroteca), I don't know if I can even come close to doing it justice. There are so many layers to go through, and it all has to fit into an hour long lecture. School is great, busy as hell. Aside from this lecture I have music history, art history, the rennaisance, music theory, aural skills, flute lessons, piano lessons, and conducting lessons to worry about. I have to say, though, I love having a schedule with no generals in it. Only classes for my majors, it's glorious. I just read about Alena's cheese eating adventure, and I have to say that I as well am intrigued by that study. It would be worth trying if I had more of a taste for cheese... but I suppose drugs will have to do... just kidding. Well, other than school, things are great. Jennifer is amazing as always, and our relationship is stronger than ever. The only problem is that she has to spend one or two weekends a month at home, working for her dad. I understand why, but it's still kind of frustrating sometimes. Well, I'm not going to sleep, but I am going to do some image research for my notes.... hope to hear from some of you.
