What a Day!
And it's not even over yet! I still have to go to Latin! ...maybe I should say swim to Latin... So I'm going to backtrack for clarity's sake.
Woke up this morning, noticed it was raining, so I thought, "I know! I'll wear my flipflops so that my feet won't have to sit in disgusting soggy shoes all day like last time this happened! I'm a genius!" About five minutes from my dorm and I had already decided that this was the single dumbest idea I had ever had. Have you ever tried to walk uphill and downhill in flipflops when it's raining? Well, it's not easy. I must have stepped out of them at least 5 times, it was embarrassing. And I think I almost fell too. Anyway, so later on I'm about to leave the music building and someone told me it was still raining. No big, I'll just pull out my handy-dandy umbrella and everything will be grand (sans flipflops)! Haha...well, as soon as I stepped outside I was already feeling a bit damp from the spray coming underneath the overhang, it was pouring that hard. About 20 minutes later, after having braved countless long crosswalks, roaring rivers, and puddles the size of lakes, I finally made it to the cafeteria. And discovered my phone was dead. Terrific. So, I'm praying that the rain will have lessened a considerable amount by tonight's concert, because I don't fancy explaining to the conductor why the principal flutist looks like a wet mop. :-)
Alright, enough griping, I'm ready to face the rest of the day! ...I hope.
