I actually did some studying!
Wow, how strange is it when you learn more from your professor's notes than his actual lecture? Prof. Bonge didn't show to class this morning (even though we have an exam on Thursday), and sent us some emails in apology and with info about the upcoming test.
With some maneuvering, I was able to translate his notes into something that makes sense. It actually has a flow. Something he has NOT been able to provide yet this semester. Maybe he should sleep through his alarm more often... as that was his excuse for not showing, even though both TA's called his cell phone, home phone, office, and got no response.
So even though I'm no journalist, I do recognize that the differences between news and tabloids are that:
1) news is supposed to contain facts, tabloids contain rumors and gossip
2) news reporters confirm their sources to back up their facts, tabloids just need to get a rumor started in order to confirm their "sources"
It's too bad my old roommate isn't a journalism major, otherwise she would have learned that.
No worries, she had the balls to take it directly to me instead of letting me hear it from someone else, but she should have at least checked her sources...
