Yeah, I've been on a bit of a Beatles kick - so sue me! Between Beatles Rock Band, the entire remastered catalog (which I ripped from my dad), and the show I went to last night, I've been a bit nutty. So, back in like March, my parents told me that they'd seen a great Beatles cover band in Ft. Lauderdale, and they had heard they were doing a show in October, and I should definitely go. Mat was game, so we got tickets, even though I thought it was a bit pricey for a cover band. Of course, when you've been dating 6 months, and you buy tickets for a concert in another 5, there's always that nagging worry that you may end up with an extra ticket, if you catch my drift. Well, I'm thrilled to say that Mat and I are happier than ever, and we went to see the Fab Faux last night! They were UNREAL! Their version of "Oh Darling" was so hot, I'm pretty sure that I was actually impregnated by it. They did the Let It Be and Abbey Road albums in their entirety and it was so amazingly accurate, nuanced, and FUN! I can't recommend them highly enough, and I'm glad my parents did! (Also, any group that makes fun of the fact that they're playing in the Wang Theatre gets bonus points in my book!).
I went home this past week. Grams took me shopping for some amazing new clothes and mom and I went on a crazy Teavana spree. Yummm! At least it's a healthy habit! I enjoyed the 88 degree weather. :-) It felt much too short, but I'll be home again for Thanksgiving and then again for a visit in late January with the mister. Speaking of whom, things are terrific (as usual...we're so unexciting!), and we'll be celebrating ONE YEAR on November 18th. I'm really excited, and I can't even tell you how happy and lucky I am to have found him. I owe Tom, Jordan, and Jason BIG time for being accomplices in my sinister plot to seduce him. Hee hee hee! It turned out better than I could have ever imagined.
I've got one more week to relax and get my life in order, and then I'm starting my new job on November 2nd! I'm so excited! I really think it will be great, and I'll learn a lot and work hard and do good things. The band reunion is this weekend, which should be oodles of fun. And I'll get to show off my man to all my college friends who haven't met him!
Aaaand, that's about it for now!
