Saturday
(Written as I was on the plane) Oh man, I’m so tired. I got no sleep last night, because I got home late and I got up at friggen 5:40. I’m no the plane right now, btw. It’s been exactly 2 hours since we started taxing down the Newark runway. I think about 1.5 hours to go til Dallas. Aww Heather’s already there! Yay! She’s meeting us at the gate *sniffle*. Yeah so not really sure why I’m writing this. Oh the American Airlines magazine has Lauren Graham on the cover and an article lmao. It’s a sign! I wanted to take it but Michelle got me all paranoid so I took pictures. And wtf! I thought we were getting a movie. Grr. Anything else exciting? We made a family tree map of Passions that got very complicated lol. Good times. Okay it’s 11:34 EST, so 10:34 EST. This is gonna get confusing. Naptime.
Sidenote - It’s 11:02 CST. 55 minutes left, and I have to pee for the 3rd time. We’re over Little Rock, AR. Hi Jen!!! Oh and this stupid woman in front of us turned around and told us we were being too loud because we kept laughing. Ho. But she was gonna watch a movie but couldn’t get it to work so she wound up playing Spider Solitare the whole flight. Loser. Oh and we also made a dream/cootie catcher.
What up (From Michelle - 11:24 CST).
(Written on Sunday night) Okay it’s Sunday night now but let’s continue about Saturday. Our 1st plane landed early, but then there was like a plane in our way, so we were taxing forever. So we finally got off, hugged Heath, went pee, and found our gate. We only had 20 mins before we had to board the next one. Michelle slept most of the time on the plane, so Heath and I just went crazy while reading her magazines and trying to figure out a way to steal the LG magazine. Eventually Michelle woke up and we were laughing like crazy. This woman in front of us kept giving us dirty looks. So then we landed all kinds of late and went to get our bags. And we’re waiting. And waiting. And waiting. And our bags never come out. Um, freak out! So I’m having a nervous breakdown, and Michelle sees our bags on another belt thank God. So yay, my aunt picked us up and took us home. It was in the 50s and like, the 70s in NJ. WTF is up with that?!
We basically went back to the house, saw Jon, and wow Bandit got shaved and he looks like a completely different dog! We were STARVING because I mean, I hadn’t eaten since 6 am, except for a Reeses, and it was like 7:00 our time. But we FINALLY went to some Mexican restaurant. And my aunt insisted on buying me my first legal, or first drink in my case, so she got me a strawberry margarita. I had one sip of it and I didn’t like it, so she drank it lol. And yeah we just came home and passed out at 8:00 haha. 11 for us!
Sunday
This morning we all woke up at 6:30 haha. We just sat and talked for a long time about high school and our psychotic classmates and teachers. Finally we all got ready and called Gen which was fun. We have to pick out our scripts! We finally went out and I drove us to PB (Pacific Beach) and walked around there for a while. God some gross pizza and matching sunglasses. We also went into a used CD/DVD store but I wound up with nothing. Michelle touched the Pacific Ocean for the first time, and it took us forever to walk back to the damn car, and we were so friggen tired. We made our way to La Jolla (said La Hoya) , which Michelle said first as it looks, and then La Julia lmao. Random - bigboy lmao. We tried to go to the Museum but we couldn’t find the entrance so we just kept walking around talking to Christina, and wound up at a Baskin Robbins. After that we just left and came home because it was a long day. My aunt made us ziti and her boyfriend Robert was there so it was a nice family dinner. We just bummed around after that watching Girls Behaving Badly which was crizazy! And then friggen Extreme Makeover was on for 2 hours, but it seemed like 5 because we were so tired. And it was near impossible to stay up for DH. But oh man it was hilarious. Let’s cut this bitch open!
Monday
Got up at 8:30 this morning, got ready, etc. We were up early enough to watch Passions on sci-fi which was exciting of course. We left about 11:30 for the Veronica Mars sites. First we went to the Camelot Motel and took a bunch of pictures and videos where Veronica/Logan first kissed and shit. From there we went to VM and Keith’s apartment complex, but we couldn’t really see anything major there. Finally we went to the boardwalk/beach/carnival place and went to some restaurant where the waitress jipped us and didn’t give us our right change. We also saw some lifeguard go in the water to save some kids. After that we went to the carnival type part of the boardwalk and went into some stores and kept looking at rides, but we decided not to go on any. So instead we decided to once again look for the Real World house like we did last year. We had the same address/directions as last year so I knew it was gonna be impossible to find. But once again we went past the airport, and the seaport, and we went ALL the way through San Fiego. Finally we got to all these naval bases and Michelle goes, “I think we’re entering the ghetto.” All of a sudden it was horrible out and Michelle goes, “What if we see a sign that says ‘Welcome to Mexico!’ ?” Because seriously, there were tons of Mexican people everywhere. So we finally managed to turn around and get back to civilization but we wouldn’t give up. We went to this travelguide place and were asking them where it was, but everyone just knew it as the old restaurant the Blue Clam. So the guy there was like, “Make a few lefts” lmao. Ok… So that’s what we did! We made some lefts to get to Shelter Island or something, but it was weird. We had no idea where we were going. So we saw this lady waslking her dog and we pulled over to ask her. She didn’t know what the Real World house was, but when we said the Blue Crab it was like the seas parted. She told us to make some turns, left at the Pizza Nova, and it’ll be on “Fingers.” Okaay. We made the turns, but found no Pizza Nova. Or fingers for that matter. We found ourselves at a Best Western, but the desk clerk had no idea where it was. We went wandering into the bar and asked some older guy sitting there. He and some other woman gave us wonderful directions, and promised us the Pizza Nova would be RIGHT THERE. And thank God Heather’s amazing when it comes to getting us places. Okay so we set out on our mission again and son of a bitch, we saw the Pizza Nova! But there was no where to make a left from there. Then we noticed sort of a fake lane which took us a while to get into, but we made our right and followed it down. FINALLY, there was the house! Seriously, it’s in the middle of nowhere. It’s on a fake street, at the end of a long driveway/parking thing. As Heather said, “How did this place get any business?” So after 3 hours of driving around, VICTORY! So of course we had to go eat at the infamous Pizza Nova, but we were exhausted and not hungry, so it was really just a waste of money - but I didn’t order anything lol. But from there we just came home and chilled. Just us, fried chicken, 7th Heaven, and Augusta, Gone.
Tuesday
Today was Veronica Mars day! We left relatively early and hit the road for the location shoot. We found the YMCA and walked around trying to find them filming, but they were done by then. Then it was off to Ruffin Road to the studio. We followed the extras and I swear we walked RIGHT INTO the studio. Then this security guard says to us, “You guys know where to go right? Just down there.” We laughed and I was game for going down and BSing our way in, but everyone was so nervous. So we said we were just fans of the show and he goes, “Oh that’s not good,” lmao. So he says, “Ok, well if you want, just walk across the field and watch them film through the fence.” So we did! As soon as we got to the fence I said to Heather, “Look there she is! Kristen Bell!” and I just shoved her in front of us so she could see her - yeah she went crazy. We stood at the fence and watched a scene with Veronica and Gia, *throws book down* haha. So then this guy comes up to us and says, “Hey do you guys want to do background work?” Um, “Yeah!” “Unfortunately, not today.” “Oh we’re from out of town.” “Oh ok. Well enjoy watching.” Haha damn. So then we had to move a bit and they went back to film another scene at the cafeteria so we couldn’t see anything, though we did see Wallace in the back. We went to the studio diner -> movie style -> and then hit for home. Actually for Cowles Mountain. It’s this 2 mile high mountain (the highest point in SD), and I’m outdoorsy sometimes, and Michelle always is, but I love climbing and things. So we went there and started stretching like idiots (I’m not even CLOSE to being able to touch my toes…sad). We started up and it was getting hot with the climb but I was still wearing my hoodie. Then I felt my face getting burned so Michelle gave me her giant sunglasses and we were downing her Gatorade. So at the ½ mile mark Heather crapped out and decided to sit on a rock while we finished. We kept going up, and had a great talk about boys and life in general. Since I’m away at school I don’t get to talk to her a lot about these things, so it was nice since you know, she’s like my sister. We made it to the top finally - YAY! And we rested for a bit. It was SO PRETTY! You can see all of San Diego from the top. Oh man I loved it. Then it was time to go down, which I hate. I love climbing, but I have serious issues with climbing DOWN things. I seriously fell like 5 times because it was steep and ascary. We continued our talk and then this lasdy was jogging down behind us, so I moved over so she could get through and I fell! And she didn’t even stop to see if I was ok! Bitch. So then we kept going and Heather popped out from behind a rock lol. Surprise! Eventually we made it down and we were exhauseted. Had to rest a little bit before driving again. But we made it home and put on some 8 Simple Rules and hung out until about 6. We then drove to my Uncle’s house because he was taking us out to dinner due to my dad’s insistence. So it was the 3 of us, my uncle and cousin Jon, NOT the fiancé Suzie thank god, and we went to some Italian/pizza place. I know Michelle’s food was crap, but my ravoli wasn’t that bad. And for the first time in my life he wasn’t a complete ass to me! It was nice lol. Except of course he brought up the wellness floor (I think…) and drinking or whatever. Anyway, then he took us to DQ and my GOD they work slow! I guess NJ is just faster paced lol. So then we just kind of said goodbye and hit the road for home. We got back around 9:00 and watching the 2nd half of AI and chilled before bed. Oh and packed! It was LA time in the morning!
Wednesday
So I got up around 6:30 or 7 I think, and we all got ready for our LA adventure. So we left for the train station at about 8:30 I think, and our train was leaving at 9:30 so we think there’s gonna be enough time. But as we’re driving there there’s tons of traffic, even though my aunt kept telling us there’d be none. So I’m having a mini-heart attack in the car as she keeps telling us that we might not make it on time and we should’ve left earlier. And you know me, I’m the most time conscious person on the planet, so my heart was beating fast and it was just not a good feeling. I mean, this isn’t like NJ Transit with trains leaving every 20 mins. But thank god we managed to find the train station and get there, so we just had to pick up our tickets and get in line. We actually found a 4 seater too. Even if we had to walk a while to find one. Vicky was meeting us on the first or second stop so we were just anxiously awaiting that until I spotted her by pressing my face up to the window. So she got on and we had a nice exciting reunion. I’m trying to think about what we did on the train, but all I can remember is blowing huge bubbles with our gum and having contests of who could blow a bigger one (this is me and Michelle). Oh and I just read in Heather’s entry that I was saying all the Ace Ventura 1&2 and Cable Guy quotes in the known universe. And Crank Yankers. And probably singing the Recycle song.
Finally the 3 hour train ride was over, and we called Christina to see where she was so we could meet. So while we’re looking for her, I’m frantically looking for a bathroom so I wouldn’t pee my pants. So Heather was on the phone with her and then I hear
“I see you!”
“Hi!’”
And I think the first thing she heard me say was, “This is Michelle. I really have to pee. Oh and I’m Jo!”
“I know.”
“Ok well I had to formally introduce myself!”
So of course there was a long line at the bathroom and the door on my stall wouldn’t shut, so I’m holding it with my foot and then Michelle’s like, “Will you hold it for me?” “Nope!” lmao what!?! She didn’t hold it for me! “Just hold it with your foot!” 5 minutes later Michelle came out of the bathroom saying, “I had to get some woman to hold the door for me because you wouldn’t” lol. Oh well. So then we went to Christina’s car and took the positions that we would stay in for the rest of our trip everywhere we went. Vicky in front, and in the back Michelle, me, Heath. And my seat belt, being the middle one, was stuck under the seat, and you know how I am. I wouldn’t give up until I got it out. So there I am panting and grunting and having making sex sounds, until I FINALLY got it out. Oh I just love first impressions.
Christina drove us right to the WB and on the way there they were like, “It’s the Hollywood sign!” So I kept trying to take a picture of it, cursing and yelling because I was very unsuccessful, yet entertaining everyone with my antics. So we got to the WB, parked, and got excited. We wanted to take the first tour we could, so naturally that would be 1:00…but the first tour they had open with 5 spaces was 2:30, so we took it. We were group 13B! 3B!!! lmao. Oh Ross. But we were just hoping 13 wouldn’t give us friggen bad luck on the tour. Anyway, so we were looking at all the merchandise and of course I didn’t buy a damn thing. But it was fun to see everything anyway. And I was freaking starving, but they only had a Starbucks there and I don’t eat muffins or anything lol. So I just dealt with it. And I was watching the Friends ep on the screen, “TOW The Inappropriate Sister” to entertain myself. And this Brazillian girl comes up to us and is talking about the tour she went on that morning. And she said that she saw Matthew Perry which made me almost fall of the bench lmao.
Finally it was time to line up. And I saw some people standing by the door so I was like, ‘Hey guys…move it.” Because I wanted to be in the front row lol. So that’s where we met our tour starter Robbie. We love you Robbie!!! He’s just the guy that introduces the WB video and your tour guide to you. But he was laughing at our shirts because me, Heath, and Christina were wearing “Stars Hollow” shirts, and Michelle and Vicky had GG ones on. So we nabbed the front row and center and then it was WB movie time! Now let me just tell you, this is the best movie ever lol. So when that was done the 2 tour guides came in. *Barry and Abby. So they told us that 13B had Barry and you know, he was hot, so I was excited. And we jumped up and followed him out because we had to be in the front of the cart of course. We threw our stuff in the cart and jumped in the first two rows, claiming our territory. But then he goes to drive and he says, “Oh whoops this is a receiver cart! We have to switch.” So then I got nervous that we wouldn’t have the front lol, so I made Michelle get my stuff out so I could steal the front again on the new cart. And there was this mother and like, 14 year old behind us, who said, “Guess we’re not getting the front.” Damn straight bitch!
So first we went to the museum. And while we were parking, Barry DID NOT hit and bend a sign. Blah. I mean, it’s cool at first. But we’ve seen it all before so let’s get this show on the road. But to pass the time we looked around, and showed Michelle everything, and I got sorted again - twice. Stupid Hufflepuff and Slytherin. God. So while we’re standing there, we hear Barry whisper to Abby, “We have to try and sneak in somehow.” And we knew they were talking about getting us into Stars Hollow, because of our shirts, and because Barry is awesome, and because we knew they were filming there lol. So seriously, we were all just trying to act cool, but we were squeeing at each other and laughing a lot. So then we had to wait for the whole stupid thing to end, so I was just watching the Friends montage video and testing my retarded skill by naming every episode that was flashing across the screen, because I’m weird like that. 20 minutes later, we finally got to leave.
Unfortunately, we tagged along with Abby’s group, which was annoying. We first went to the ER bay…though not really because they were filming. So we were stuck behind the Jumbo Mart (aka Doc Magoo’s) and we saw Mekhi Phifer there too because he was in the scene. They were doing a shooting scene for the finale I think. So Abby started talking to us about it foreveeeeeeeer, and then she goes “We can stay if you want, or we can go somewhere else.” Thank God we left.
Then we went through the little jungle place. And we had to hear about how they shot Million Dollar Baby in the shack for the 100th time, and how many scenes were shot in the stupid lake thing. But this time we drove THROUGH the jungle, which is where we were told last year the Ren. Fair was in 502 of GG. Huzzah! And there was another little house there too.
We went past the study tree next, also central park in Friends. And it was set up for a funeral on Cold Case and there was a casket there and everything. So then we finally got into Stars Hollow via Babette’s house. We were on the left side of it, which is weird…I don’t think I was ever there. So we walked through and the band’s van was like, large and in our face. And we ran up on the steps of the house and poor Barry had to use 5 cameras to take all our pics lol. But it was cool because it’s the *new* house. And then I went over to the mailbox and did my goofy act with pics. And then it was chuppah time, and Gilbert was on it and was all broken, which was sad. And the boat was hanging out of the garage, and was filled with a whole mess of crap. So we walked through there, and they were filming over at Luke’s, so we had to only take pics in the other direction, but I got one of the gazebo before that lol. My bad! So then Barry was like, “Hey go in the gazebo if you want to see them film!” So we did of course lol, but they were on lunch break dammit. And we heard gunshots randomly, so we were like, “Oh someone’s dying! Maybe Chris is killing April or vise versa a la Sheridan on Passions.”
From there we were just crusing around on our nifty carts, and we saw the “Off White House” lol from West Wing. And there were airplane seats outside it. And Allison Janney was just standing there chillin, and she waved at us which was cool, before heading into her trailer. I’m pretty sure that was the last thing we did, but I’m only saying that because I’m stealing from Christina’s entry since I have no concept of what we did when, and that’s the last thing she has written down.
Then it was soundstage time! Yay! So while Barry’s parking the cart, Abby’s leading us inside, but we’re hanging back outside of the stage, and all of a sudden I heard someone, can’t remember who, say “Look it’s April…” So we all like turn around and stare lol. So yeah it was Vanessa Marano with some woman..her mother? And I think she kind of gave us a dirty look lmao. Sorry bitch. You ruined our show. We should throw tomatoes at you. And the woman with her kid was like, “Do you know her from something?” “Um yeah…Gilmore Girls. She plays April.” “Who’s April?” *sigh* this is why you’re not sitting in the front lady. But yeah, she looked nothing like April, but like her IMDB pic with her hair down and wavy. And we were like, “Oh damn we just got out of SH and here they are out of their lunch break. Friggen A.” Plus you know, she’s the last person we wanted to see.
So we walked inside and it was the Invasion set. I’ve never seen the show, so I didn’t really care. And Abby was asking us like, what we could tell about the characters from the paintings on the wall and the locks on the door. Um, who gives a shit. And it was a hot set, so we couldn’t touch anything. Yet as we were walking through the set Abby kept picking crap up. Good move. You just ruined the next episode. And it was a 2 floor set which was weird. So we walked upstairs while Abby wouldn’t shut up on the balcony in front of the other 19 people. And we’re hanging outside, and doing illegal things (shhhhh) until we got to leave finally. So we kind of sprinted down the stairs, but then we realized, “hey there’s no one behind us” because they went down the other way. Lordy.
And the tour cart was blocked in by a huge truck, so we went mosying on into Stage 18 (aka the Dragonfly and Lorelai’s house). And we still had our cameras (shhhh), and you know, “Scott Rocks!!” And we went into the Dragonfly and walked around kind of fast. In the kitchen Heather was like, “It’s Lucky Number 7!” lmao. So we walked around the back of that, and past Lorelai’s house. And we could see Lorelai/Luke’s bedroom and the bed was all messed up lmao. Sweet. And the bathroom too.
After that we went to see Central Perk, but there was a long wait lol. So we had to learn about holding prop forms, which I took lol. So there were like 5 groups in there, so we had to just like, go in for 5 seconds and go back out. But I managed to take a quick pic. So we got dropped off after that because the tour was over, but I managed to grab Barry and ask him about the next day. Since there was going to be 9 of us, and we wanted to have him again. So he just said to request him or whatever, so we decided to just get there ASAP in the morning.
So we went to the hotel after that - Travelodge Burbank/Glendale. We went to check in but we had only paid for 3 people, so we had to play it off that 2 of us were just visiting lol. And the stupid ugly woman at the front desk was like, “If you lose a key we have to reprogram everything!” And was making it seem like we were idiots or something. Ho. And she also said we couldn’t fit a cot in the room. Just what we wanted to hear. And btw, the parking lot was a piece of crap. So we went to our room and OMG. It was so small lmao. The beds were itty bitty, with no floor space at all. The bathroom had no tissues, and a 2 foot wide shower lol. The clock wasn’t even plugged in. So Christina was like, “Hmmm I’m gonna go look for a blanket in my car” and she wound up coming in with like a portable bed lmao.
So I hadn’t eaten anything since like, 7:00 that morning, and it was about 5:30 now. So we decided to go to the mall from “Scene in a Mall” and chill at the foodcourt. Yay for McDonalds. So we were looking for the Forever 21 since that’s where Rory and Lorelai are window shopping, so we went in there and found a cowboy hat. And Heather put it on, and I made her dance. And then I made Christina dance. And Michelle and Vicky too of course. But y’all suck! Man I’m the only one crazy enough to be weird. So I put the hat on and did a dance for the whole 30 seconds for my camera lol. So after that we were looking for the Radio Shack since that’s where the escalators were that they used in the ep. Wow we’re weird. So we went there and then found a Hot Topic. And OMG I got 2 of the best shirts ever. A Hey Dude one and a Salute Your Shorts one! And hey, I just looked online and yo. There’s a Clarissa one. And, just wait for it, A ROCKO ONE. So I’ll be spending more money on those. RECYCLE!
And Heather was like, begging us to leave because she wanted to get back in time for Veronica Mars. And I was just making her crazy lol. So we headed for home, and also tried to find a 7-11 so we could get some breakfast crap. And after what took us FOREVER, we found one. My lovely breakfast - powered donuts and a banana. So we finally got back to the hotel at about 8:40 so Heather wasn’t hyperventaliting anymore. And I looked up the Recycle song since we had been singing it all week long and we just love it. And all during VM I had no idea wtf was happening. But that’s nothing new. I watch it and I get more and more confused every week. But in the middle of it the TV went out and Heather’s screaming and hitting it lol. It kept doing that every few minutes whenever we watched anything. And Michelle was like passed out on the bed. In the middle of the ep. I was reading 619 spoilers for GG and I started groaning lmao. “What’s wrong?” “Oh just reading spoilers. Nothing new.” Lmao. After that we just got ready for bed since we had to get up mad early the next day. But we wound up talking for a long time. The 4 of us anyway since Michelle was asleep and knows nothing about the online world. And yeah, that was fun lol. But then yeah…we had to sleep.
Thursday
So Michelle got up at 6, and I got up at 6:30, but her alarm woke me up anyway so the extra half hour did nothing. Plus Vicky was snoring lmao. So basically we just all got ready, had my donuts and banana, and we called Gen but she was already there! We left at like, 7:57 because it literally takes 3 minutes to get there. And we saw Gen walking towards us as we were parking the car. So she’s the first new person we met lol. We all said hi and whatever, and went right into the studio. The 3 other ppl weren’t there yet, and we really didn’t want to risk that they might not be there, but then I think 2 of them were sitting at the Starbucks lol. So the 8 of us all went up to the counter and asked the girl when Barry was giving a tour and he came out of the back - “Hi guys! I do my tour at 9:00!” YAY! So the 8 of us bought tickets for that and we reserved a seat for Priscilla since she wasn’t there yet. And they were so nice, everyone else that came up to buy tickets they gave a different tour guide lol. So yeah, we were just all hanging out waiting til 8:55 so we could go in, and it was getting tense because we couldn’t find Priscilla and Gen kept calling her. So at like, 8:54 Gen comes out with her…apparantly she had been sitting at the Starbucks the whole time but no one could see each other lol. So yay we had 9! We saw Robbie again, and he was laughing because we were back and still wearing our Stars Hollow shirts. Now there were 4 of us with them on lol.
So we went inside and completely took up the entire front row of the theater/room. And as usual, the movie rocked the house and we could practically recite it lol. So after it was over, Barry came out of the room laughing at us, and said “Hey my group!” And yay!! No one else was on our tour! We were so excited lol. We all went outside and Barry goes, “Remember yesterday when we took the receiver cart? Let me make sure this doesn’t happen again.” Haha oh Barry. So we hopped on the cart in our normal positions, and he asked us if there was anything besides Gilmore Girls stuff that we wanted to see. But there wasn’t. So yay private tour! So he takes us around and was like, “Do you guys know about the water tower? I feel bad that I’m just driving around not saying anything,” lol. Then I asked him if anyone ever told him that he looked like *insert celebrity* and he said he gets that all the time lol. Nice.
We were just telling him everything we wanted to see, which was basically just the soundstages and Stars Hollow. So he told us the gameplan, (which I’m stealing from Christina) “This is the plan. The cast has 10:00 call times, so we’re going to go to Stars Hollow, take some pictures, look around, go check out some of the soundstages, we have to put in an appearance at the museum, even if only for five minutes, and we have to go to the transportation (where they have the cars) and take your picture, because we didn’t do that yesterday, but other than that, we can just see Gilmore stuff, and then we can go back around to Stars Hollow and see if they’re filming anything. Sound good?” Um…hell yes.
So we went right to Stars Hollow before they were filming, and we walked right by Luke’s, and the truck!! That was cool. So seriously, we went EVERYWHERE. First I think we looked in Luke’s and saw the balloons and food and presents set up all in the set for April’s party. Hot set, so we couldn’t go inside. But then I think we just ran around in the park, and swung on the swings!! And I sat on the little duck thing too haha. And we looked in Patti’s studio, and there were some people inside. And it wasn’t set up for anything in particular. More like storage space. And behind Patti’s studio was the place for the Rich Man’s Shoe bar. So then we just walked all around Stars Hollow doing everything. We took some random store pictures, and then went up to Lane’s apartment which had red/orange paper over the windows, but we looked inside the other ones and took some pics of it. Then we went to Kim’s Antiques, and the door was open so I looked inside to see the infamous Prom Video stairs from Friends! Gazebo and mini gazebo time! And Barry, you ROCK for taking pictures of us with like, 9 cameras lol. And standing right by the gazebo at the Growing Pains house was Sherrilyn Fynn who plays Anna. And she was wandering over to the Twickham house because they were filming inside of it. And I really wanted to yell, “Ginger, where’s your leg?!” But we didn’t see her again so I couldn’t. We also looked inside Antonelli’s Pizza, and the Doll Hospital. And there were Chinese Lanterns all in front of the Chat Club lol. And of course I had to take a picture in front of JoJo’s with the crappy ass food. Ooo and the Church’s side door was open too, so we took some pics through there. The Beauty Shop door was open too, because they were gonna film in there, and another secret door was open, so we convinced Barry to take us there and take some more secret pictures lol. “I don’t think so! Homey don’t play that!” Oh and Barry got us some top secret materials/souviners too haha. Barry I love ya.
So after we pretty much did all of Stars Hollow that was possible, we went back to the cart and saw the nicest security guard in the world. We were asking her when they’d be filming, and if we could come back and watch them film. She goes, “I feel you! My daughter and I are big Gilmore fans. I try to get my daughter to watch it with me and she finally likes it.” Haha. Then on the way out of there we drove by the study tree again, and all the Cold Case stuff was gone, so I went out there and did a little “thinking” pose that everyone loved because they all took pictures of me haha.
He told us that we had to make an appearance at the museum because it’s part of the deal, so we literally went for 5 minutes. I think I just stood in the one spot and watched Friends, until we could finally leave. The people there were like, “Have you seen the GG stuff in the back?” Uh yeah. And then we went to the car showroom place with the Dukes of Hazzard Car, the Batmobiles, and the Scooby Doo Mystery Van. And we were like, dying to get out of there. So he took our quick group picture, and in the computer he put it as “Barry’s Gilmore Group” haha. Because we’re so cool like that.
So then it was soundstage time! Holla! I think we went to stage 14 first aka Yale/Rory’s Apartment/New Hospital set. So first we were walking past the hospital set and I think it was pink…or maybe blue. Can’t remember. And we walked through the apartment and man, is it crappy. There were books everywhere, and a pile of mail on the desk. And then we walked out of there and into Yale. We just walked down a hallway and it was funny because on the bulletin boards there’s all these notices that really make no sense. I think some are ones they actually made up, but other ones are just paper that I think they’ve found and put up there. And we walked into the newsroom set which was cool. Paris’s little cubby hole was gone. And it was a hot set I think, but I could be making that up. Oh and we also saw Logan’s apartment for a minute. Oh man it’s so spiffy in there. So after we did some illegal things, we went out and went into the mansion - stage 12. But we went in the back way, so we didn’t walk through the front door. But we did walk in the living room with the candy dish *cough* and then Gen and I snuck into Richard’s study with his while you were out pad *cough* and then we left there. Then we went into Stage 18 - Dragonfly/Lorelai’s House. We went into the Dragonfly and meandered around there and then I spent some quality time in the kitchen with Barry for a minute, before everyone else came in. Oh and the pantry was still there from last year lmao. So after our illegal action, instead of getting yelled at we got encouraged, which was hilarious. And then we did something else exciting, that no fan has done before, and got the hell outta dodge.
Then we went back to Stars Hollow to see if they would be filming anything, and our nice security lady friend told us we could hang out at the Growing Pains house because they were filming over at the Twickham house. And we heard the little “we’re filming/rolling” alarm go off, and btw it was Lorelai and Anna filming in there for Anna’s shop. So Barry told us we could hang out there until they yelled “cut!” to see if anyone would come out…but then they yelled “reset!” so that was the end of that lol. So since we had information now, we were like, “Hey, when else do you do tours?” And he laughed and said he was doing them at 11:30 and 2:30. And since it was like, 11:15, we went for the 2:30 one lol. So we went back up to the front desk, and the same girl was laughing at us. And she used her little walkie talkie and was like, “What tour is Barry doing at 2:30? Can he be 13D?” and she was laughing the whole time. And she said that if we went on the 2:30 tour then there’d probably be more than just us on it. So then we had something to think about…and we thought really quick and decided to just buy out the tour. There were 9 of us, so it’d be like, an extra $12 a person which wasn’t bad. But I felt bad for Michelle so Heather and I split her extra ticket lol. And anyway, this way we were guaranteed our own tour again. Besides, we were originally going to do a Deluxe Tour and Regular Tour, and these 3 tours were cheaper than one deluxe tour. Oh and we didn’t do the deluxe because apparantly they’re doing them this month while they train new people.
So it was only about 11:30 and we needed to eat, so I had my first trip to Carl’s Jr. (They don’t exist over here) And because I’m weird, I’ll even tell you what I had, which was a chicken nugget meal (are you really surprised?) which was pretty good. And COOL they give you numbers and then bring the food right to your table! That’s amazing. So while we all bonded there (actually only 7 of us lol) we were looking at pictures and just laughing a lot, and I did a little Irish dance to the music that was playing.
So then we still had time to kill, and I needed more batteries. So we all went back to the hotel and chilled there for a while until we had to go back to the studio. So we got there (wow I say “so” A LOT) and got ready for tour #3. Robbie came out to greet us before the movie, and said, “So what did you do between the tours?” “Had Carl’s Jr!” Haha. And then there was this other tour guide that came in and was talking to us and telling us how crazy/awesome we are. And he asked us where we got our Stars Hollow shirts and told us he thought they should give us Gilmore Girls shirts for free because you know, we’re awesome. And they had the Friends 10 season box set, but I just wanted the box, since I have all the DVDs lol, and Christina said instead of the shirt I should get that, and then I had this conversation with him about that lol. Oh making friends.
So then it was movie time again which was of course fun, and Robbie sat with us. And I did something really cool because it was a beautiful day. And then Robbie was acting crazy…oh man we love him! And then the tour guides came in and Barry’s laughing and just goes, “Okay my group!” and we all just immediately got up and followed suit. And there was a tour guide in training that was with us the whole time, and she reminded me SO MUCH of a celebrity, but I can’t put my finger on who. But anyway she was hilarious and amazing too haha. Let’s call her Mindy. So we go outside and Barry’s pulls out a little piece of paper and tells us he did some research! On his break! I LOVE HIM! And on the paper are places that he could take us to, like the basketball court where Luke & Logan played in 615, and the gym they went to, and random other things. And we got in the cart and he goes, “Basically we’re gonna scour the lot!” And I guess he told everyone we were back because we didn’t have to go to the museum or any other stupid requirements of the day.
So he drives us right to Stars Hollow, parking at the ER bay, out of sight out of mind, but we didn’t even take our cameras with us. And we saw our security guard friend and she told us that GG was on break for like, 15 minutes I think. And we just walked casually past the caution tape and right up to the Growing Pains house. And then someone said something about our ages, because Barry was like, “Wait, how old are you?!” “21…or 20, or higher.” “Oh man are you serious? We thought you were like 14! Now I can start cussing!” OH LORD. I wanna say it’s because most of us are like, 5 feet tall instead of the fact that we were acting like kids in a candy store. So we were just waiting and waiting and waiting for Lauren Graham to come riding right by us on her bike on her way back from lunch, but she never came. But everytime we heard someone, or any kind of noise, we kind of snapped in that direction. And he was asking us if we wanted to go somewhere else, but seriously. Where did we have to be? So we stayed lol, and Michelle broke the fence lmao. She whispers to me, “Joanna I broke the fence!” because one of the wood piece things fell off lmao. So I’m trying to get it back on, but I can’t so I just kind of stuck it on loosely. And then all of a sudden it fell off onto the sidewalk so everyone was laughing and I think Barry managed to get it back on. Oh and then I had some kind of spaz attack. I was just kind of standing there, looking towards the town, when I noticed a little fly thing coming towards my face. But I waited until it landed like, on the corner of my eye to do something about it. And at the same time I had my hands like, under the strings on my badge. So all of a sudden I went to swat it while I also like, ducked, but since my hands were on the strings and the badge I kind of just started hitting my face and falling over and it was so freaking funny. And Barry was like, “OMG. What’s wrong with you?!” And I just explained it like, “Fly..on my face. And swatting it.” And oh man… Oh and we kept seeing April’s friends walking around, and at one point they started waving at us which was so cute.
So then Barry pulled some strings for us, and we were able to go up to the gazebo. So we were all standing up in there, but I was nervous the bench was gonna break…and that would not be good. So I had to move lol. And they were setting up for filming in the Beauty Shop by this time, so we knew they’d be coming into SH soon. And all of a sudden Heather goes, “There she is!” and we saw Lauren Graham riding in on her bike (with one hand and she had her cell phone in the other…now that’s skill) via, behind the school past the Growing Pains house through the street, past the gazebo and parked her bike. And she was wearing this long blue jacket type thing. And we’re all just like, “OMG that’s Lauren Graham!” And it was her birthday so we all wanted to wish her a good one, but she wasn’t close enough to us. Oh and Barry thought it was hilarious that we knew it was her bday and kept asking us like, “Are you sure it’s TODAY?”
So then Barry, being the amazing guy he is, let us move down to the gazebo to sit. And right next to the gazebo were some crew guys playing horseshoes and I swear I wanted to play so bad! Anyway, there we were, 9 girls and 2 tour guides sitting on the steps, all squeezed together, talking and having the time of our lives. We saw Lauren give someone a hug, probably because they said Happy Bday, and then we saw 2 girls give her some balloons. We also saw Vanessa (April) wearing the same blue jacket thing, and then inside the Beauty Shop everyone was singing Happy Birthday to her. It was ironic that all this was happening because you know, they were filming a birthday scene. So there were decorations everywhere lol.
So yay then it was time to start their rehearsal! And who should come riding in on their bike, right past Luke’s and up to the shop, but Scott Patterson! And he was just hanging out there, and him and Vanessa were hugging and rubbing each other’s backs which was so cute. So then he looked our way, so we just started waving at us, and then OMG he waved back lmao. It was so adorable and exciting! And then a little bit later he waved again, and then turned around really fast and like 2 seconds later he turned around again with like 3 of the girls and they all waved at us. It was so hilarious. And then Lauren came out and they were chillin’ by each other, and then Scott’s phone rang and we heard him say “Hello,” and it’s sad that we care about that. Then some person brought Lauren’s bike to her and she left us unfortunately, and it was the last we saw of her. We figured they were going to put on their costumes, and plus her hair wasn’t done…but it was in a messy ponytail thing so maybe they were doing hair too? Because they had so much setting up to do for the scene, there was really no need for them to just hang around. They started bringing in all these lights and weird things to set up outside the shop too.
But we could be completely wrong about that lol, because all of a sudden they were filming at Luke’s. There was a lot of stuff blocking our vision, but we saw some extras walking back and forth, and then back into position when they reset. And the cars were moving too and some crew guy had some CT plates. And so Barry’s like, “Hey do you wanna go see the Dragonfly again?” because we had to stop back there to look for Gail’s glasses, but seriously, who would leave that spot?!
So security and crew was walking by us like, every 5 seconds, and we were just like, “Act cool! Don’t make eye contact!” but no one ever said anything to us lol. And then the nice security lady came back with cake she was eating (for Lauren’s birthday) and we were like, “Hey can you tell Lauren that we all say Happy Birthday? And to look over at the gazebo?!” And she was like, “Oh I sure can! I told her Happy Birthday before, and she looked at me and she goes, ‘Thank you! Thank you!’” And she was like, squeeing herself lmao. It was soooo cute. And then finally a security guard or crew guy comes up to us with this almond popcorn bag, I think from April’s party, and he goes, “If you’re gonna be sitting here watching, you need popcorn!” or something like that. And we were just like, “OMG thank you so much!!” lol. So we opened that and were chowing down on it because I mean, come on.
So finally a crew guy comes up to us and he told us that they were going to be filming that way, so we had to move. But we didn’t have to leave or anything! They just made us go over and stand on the street kind of parallel with the church. So we hung over there for a while, but we didn’t see anything else. Oh except the little girls waving at us again from the gazebo lol. So unfortunately time was almost up, so we decided to go back to the Dragonfly to look for Gail’s glasses before the tour was over. So we had to walk through SH behind the gazebo and behind the school to get to the cart, because we had it in a little hidden location lol. And the whole time we were driving we had our eyes peeled for anyone from the show, but alas, we saw no one. But we went back to the DF and read the script pages that were taped to the computer, and did a quick run through before we had to leave again.
So he took us back to the store, and we insisted on taking a group photo with him because this is the best group of people ever lol. And we were telling Barry we were gonna fill out comment cards about him lol. So he took the liberty of getting them for us haha, and we were just writing things on the bottom like, “Barry and Robbie are AMAZING and AWESOME.” And it was just so cute. And he gave me his email address so I could email him the picture that we took of all of us and him, and btw - he emailed me back hahaha. I love him!!! So then we went up to the front desk to hand in the cards, and the manager was there. And she said to Heather and Vicky and us, “You guys look familiar, have you been here before?” And they were all embarrased, but I was like, “Yeah a lot.” Haha. And she goes, “You know what, next time you come, call up and we’ll give you reservations. We’ll give you private tours.” LMAO. But duh, we didn’t get a name or anything to say when we go…good thing I have Barry’s email haha. So yeah, we bid farewell to Barry and Robbie, which was sad. But they wished us good trips back and everything. *sniffle* I miss them.
So we were already running late for The Class taping, so we said a quick goodbye to the other 3, and it was just the 5 of us going to Lot 3 for the taping. So we went up to the front to get in line, and LMAO btw - there were tons of Korean/Asian people there and walking into WB studios for a certain scene lmao. So yeah, we got in line, and there were like, 2 lines. And they came around to check our tickets and give us stamps on our hands. And it was 2 weird guys doing it. Some strange man, and then some straightlaced guy with him who took like 3 years to check our ticket and ID, and I swear to God it was like he was in the FBI or something. So they eventually start letting people in from both lines, and we’re getting closer and closer to the front, and I’m getting more and more delusional. And weird guy comes out and tells us that we may not get in, which pisses me off because God we had tickets. So he keeps telling us that he’ll know in a few minutes if we can get in, and we’re seriously at the FRONT of the line…like, no one was in front of us. So it’s taking forever and ever and ever, and seriously, I went mental. I started saying Cable Guy and Ace Ventura lines because it’s my favorite thing to do, and also some Crank Yankers lines, and singing Recycle. And I was doing the Jim Carrey voice of course, and saying the CG line, “So?” with the lisp and underbite and omg it was just so funny. I seriously started having one of my laughing fits and I just couldn’t stop. I didn’t even know what I was laughing at. So Michelle starts timing me to see how long I could go without laughing, and I think I went 2 seconds at first, but eventually I recovered haha. I think I scared everyone with that. So yeah then the guy comes out again and tells us that there’s only 2 seats, so some other people went in. And I asked if there ws gonna be a second seating, and he says, “No because it’s only a run through. It’s only going to be about 45 minutes.” WTF. That’s IT?! Then why the hell did we wait for over an hour?!
So then we left all pissed off, and decided to go to Hollywood I guess. The Kodak Theater? We went to eat at the California Pizza Kitchen, but while we waited for our table we went on this platform thing. And we took some pictures there, and then Michelle and I went mental and started modeling for the camera on it, in front of all these people, and it was so crazy. Everyone probably thinks we’re nuts. So yeah we got our table, and EW I hated the food. California does not know how to make pizza. I think I had it like, 3 times that week, and it sucked every time. I need my east coast food. So yeah, I’m like forcing it down my throat and they were getting a kick outta that. And then we decided to all make phone posts at the same time (Gen, Christina, Heather, and myself). But once again Heather couldn’t get her thing to work, so it was just the 3 of us. But I didn’t like how mine was coming out so I just didn’t make it lol, but the other two were passing their phones around and we were all just talking into the posts and laughing hysterically. I had another fit lmao. So then after that we went down to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the handprints at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. And I just wanted to find 2. Shirley Temple, and John Wayne, since that’s the one they steal in I Love Lucy. And Lord it took forever to find John Wayne’s, but we finally got it. So then Gen left because it was like 9:30 (we’re lame). And we were trying to find something to do. So we walked outside and there was this group of break dancers and all these people around them so we were watching that for a while. And then they were asking for $10 in donations before they did their finale. And finally I got sick of them asking for it, so I donated a $1 and got Michelle to too. So then they were like, “Oh be our VIP!” but you know Michelle. So they asked me, and I was like, “Sure!” So they cleared off this crate and had me sit there, and one of the dancers started giving me a massage lmao. And he asked my name, where I was from, and if I had a boyfriend haha. And then I was like, “Okay you can stop now,” so he sat down next to me laughihng. And he goes, “Do you smoke weed?” “No.” “Do you drink?” Now here’s where I’m an idiot. I said, “No I’m a good girl.” And he goes, “Oh well we have to change that.” “Um no.” So he kept talking to me about it, and when the show was over I was so happy to get out of there so I like, tried running away but he made me give him a big hug first and I was just like, “Oh Lord go away.”
So after that we decided to leave, but we didn’t really know where we were going. But then we finally got out of there and found our way back to the motel. And we were mad tired, so we were watching ER, but I wasn’t paying much attention to it so I just dled it and watched it again lol. Michelle fell asleep immediately just like the night before, but we were all pretty tired. And I was falling all over everything because there’s no walking room, and I finally got into bed after I almost broke a hip lol. And so ends Thursday.
Friday
Yeah so we didn’t wake up THAT early. It was about 8:30 I think, and I didn’t take a shower so I felt skeevy all day with my hair up and messy. We needed something to do, but the weather was crappy, so there wasn’t much TO do. We went to CityWalk and shopped a little bit. We bought my aunt a hoodie there, and Sam Goody was having a going out of business sale, so I got ER s4 and Seinfeld s3. I also got Little House on the Prairie for my mom.
After that they wanted to go see V for Vendetta at the Imax theater. And Michelle just wanted to see the Imax lol. But I’m sorry, I’m not paying $14 to see a movie that I didn’t want to see in the first place. You may think I’m cheap, but I’m also realistic and that’s just bullshit. Esp. when I can pay $5 in Roselle Park.
So yeah instead we went to Hard Rock and I got the stupid chicken fingers that have like, 100 spices on them and make you want to rip your throat out, so that was a waste of money.
So yeah, after that we just went driving around, because we didn’t really have time to do anything else. We wanted to go to Beverly Hills, but we didn’t have enough time to find it. So yeah, we just drove around, and Hey Ya came on the radio, so Michelle and I danced like crazy haha. And then we had to take Vicky back to Citywalk since Sarah was picking her up. So we got there early and hung out, reading our GG scripts, and acting out scenes from Raincoats and Recipes which was fun. But then we had to leave for the train station, so we said goodbye to Vicky which was sad, especially since we had to leave her there without Sarah.
So yeah, it was like, 3:07 when we started for the station. AND OMG. Traffic. Traffic. Traffic. It was not good. In other words, our train was leaving at 4:05 and at 3:58 we still weren’t there. And Christina ran a red light lmao. And as I’ve said before, me and time don’t go well together, so I’m having a heart attack. And so yeah it was like, 4:01 and she drops us off, and we hug really fast and make a run for it. I had my backpack on my arm, and 3 other heavy bags in my other arm, and I’m in horrible shape. So I’m running as fast as humanly possible, and I’m like, dying seriously. Plus, the board said track 2, but there was no track 2. So then this guy says, “It’s 12!” So we’re running, and I seriously can’t even do it anymore. And Michelle’s yelling, “I can’t run!” And I was about to pass out. But I’m just praying we make it. So finally we find it, and I started running again, even though I was on the verge of death. And then the conductor lady was there and she’s like, “It’s ok you made it,” but by like, 30 seconds. And then we get on, and we go upstairs to try and find a 4 seater, and we’re walking forever and can’t even breathe. And Michelle just stops and says she’ll catch up because she’s dying. And so me and Heather kept walking until we got to the last car and gave up, and sat in a 2 seater. So we’re seriously like, dying. I can’t even explain. I couldn’t breathe at all. And eventually Michelle gets to us, and she says that she was blacking out, but I know she was lying. Because she says that all the time, and it’s never true. Because you can’t black out from just running, and not like, fall down. And she admitted she was lying, so I don’t know why she said it lol.
So on the train, Heather and I were watching some special videos we had taken, and then the rest of the videos from the trip, and looking at all the pictures and every 5 seconds I was like, “OMG Inspiration!” So yeah we kept laughing after we had recovered and had a good time. And then Michelle started talking to some old lady next to her which was funny lol.
So the deal was we were gonna take my aunt out for dinner, but she just wanted pizza lol. And she wouldn’t let us pay, which made me mad. And the oven broke, so the people had to bring out the pizza to us lol. Yeah so we went back to the house, and ate our pizza and Robert came over too. So we just chilled and ate and talked, and then it was late and we were mad tired, so we just bid farewell and went to bed.
Saturday
We had to get up so early. I got up at 4:40 and we left around 6 I think. But it didn’t register that the alarm went off, and I was hearing it, but I didn’t realize it until Michelle started poking my head. So we got there and I didn’t want to do the curbside check in so we went inside but there was like an hour long wait. By that point I was nothing by extremely frustrated and started cursing, because I just wanted to get to the gate. But I think I was just also upset that we were leaving so it was all meshed together. So we went back out to curbside and Michelle paid with a 5 and asked for change lmao. “Paying is optional.” It’s a tip Michelle!! So yeah then we did security and got to our gate: 31. Since Heather’s plane left 5 mins after ours she was hanging out with us til we boarded, which was early. So we hugged goodbye. So sad. I LOVE YOU. So yeah we boarded mad early. But we still left late. WTF. So the first flight was about 5 hours to Boston. And they changed the AA magazing! So to pass the time we pulled out the Spanish AA magazine and I went into crazy mode. I was “translating” it which was hilarious. Since you know, I stopped after Spanish 3 in 10th grade, and hardly knew anything even then. So yeah I was making no sense and we were just hysterical. And we had a radio and movie on this flight! So that was fun. The movie was “Elizabethtown” and I really liked it. I wasn’t expecting to from what I’ve heard though, and Michelle kept going back and forth from the radio and the movie and didn’t really know what was going on. And I was so hungry, but they don’t feed you on airplanes anymore, so all I had were 2 melted Reeses. And I was so proud of myself! I didn’t get up to pee at all! Even though I had to go so bad lol. And even though I went like, 3 times on the way to Dallas. So yeah, we landed early which was good, because we had to find the next gate. And it was my first time in Boston. Stupid people wearing Red Sox hates. Gross.
So we got off the plane and I was running around for 2 things. 1. Find a tv with our gate number. 2. Find a bathroom. So we’re running around like crazy but we couldn’t find either. Finally a bathroom was in sight thank God. And FINALLY we saw a tv with our flight. Seriously it took forever to find. So then we go to security and they’re like, “There’s no bathrooms or food in here, so do it before you come through.” So I did, and Michelle hung back to get a sandwich. So I chilled there and called Heather in O’Hare and my parents. So yay we boarded onto the smallest plane ever. There were like 15 rows, 2 seats on the right, and 1 on the left. No 1st class. At 5:00, our takeoff time, they were like, “There’s runway traffic. So we can’t leave for about 40 minutes.” Yay. So we were chillin there, and left at just about 5:40. And the flight was like, 45 minutes! Michelle and I just talked about how stupid people are, and how things have changed, and how people are bad lol. So yeah we landed at like 6:25ish which was our landing time anyway. So we got off there and went to get our bags, but it took freaking forever to get Michelle’s…and ok this story is getting boring so I’m gonna stop there.
So that was spring break ’06 lol. Yes, I want to go back next year…but maybe for different reasons as most of you are aware of right now lol.
Michelle - My best friend! I love you girlfriend. You’re not reading this, but I’m glad you came lol. I got to have a real vacation with you that didn’t include the Jersey shore.
Heather - My other best friend/other half! I miss you so much! Don’t live so far away from me!!! Grrr. We have to make plans to visit each other soon because….not having plans is just not cool.
Christina - haha you must seriously think I’m insane. But I’m not I swear! Just a little weird sometimes. You’re so awesome, and my only Friends friend right now…well that’s at least as obsessed as me. So that gives you points lmao. Anyway, I miss you!! And I love you!! Disney!!!
Gen - Haha you’re silly. And the only one taller than 5’3 out of us. I feel like a peanut. Anyway, you rock, and I’m so glad I got to meet you finally!

Saturday
(Written as I was on the plane) Oh man, I’m so tired. I got no sleep last night, because I got home late and I got up at friggen 5:40. I’m no the plane right now, btw. It’s been exactly 2 hours since we started taxing down the Newark runway. I think about 1.5 hours to go til Dallas. Aww Heather’s already there! Yay! She’s meeting us at the gate *sniffle*. Yeah so not really sure why I’m writing this. Oh the American Airlines magazine has Lauren Graham on the cover and an article lmao. It’s a sign! I wanted to take it but Michelle got me all paranoid so I took pictures. And wtf! I thought we were getting a movie. Grr. Anything else exciting? We made a family tree map of Passions that got very complicated lol. Good times. Okay it’s 11:34 EST, so 10:34 EST. This is gonna get confusing. Naptime.
Sidenote - It’s 11:02 CST. 55 minutes left, and I have to pee for the 3rd time. We’re over Little Rock, AR. Hi Jen!!! Oh and this stupid woman in front of us turned around and told us we were being too loud because we kept laughing. Ho. But she was gonna watch a movie but couldn’t get it to work so she wound up playing Spider Solitare the whole flight. Loser. Oh and we also made a dream/cootie catcher.
What up (From Michelle - 11:24 CST).
(Written on Sunday night) Okay it’s Sunday night now but let’s continue about Saturday. Our 1st plane landed early, but then there was like a plane in our way, so we were taxing forever. So we finally got off, hugged Heath, went pee, and found our gate. We only had 20 mins before we had to board the next one. Michelle slept most of the time on the plane, so Heath and I just went crazy while reading her magazines and trying to figure out a way to steal the LG magazine. Eventually Michelle woke up and we were laughing like crazy. This woman in front of us kept giving us dirty looks. So then we landed all kinds of late and went to get our bags. And we’re waiting. And waiting. And waiting. And our bags never come out. Um, freak out! So I’m having a nervous breakdown, and Michelle sees our bags on another belt thank God. So yay, my aunt picked us up and took us home. It was in the 50s and like, the 70s in NJ. WTF is up with that?!
We basically went back to the house, saw Jon, and wow Bandit got shaved and he looks like a completely different dog! We were STARVING because I mean, I hadn’t eaten since 6 am, except for a Reeses, and it was like 7:00 our time. But we FINALLY went to some Mexican restaurant. And my aunt insisted on buying me my first legal, or first drink in my case, so she got me a strawberry margarita. I had one sip of it and I didn’t like it, so she drank it lol. And yeah we just came home and passed out at 8:00 haha. 11 for us!
Sunday
This morning we all woke up at 6:30 haha. We just sat and talked for a long time about high school and our psychotic classmates and teachers. Finally we all got ready and called Gen which was fun. We have to pick out our scripts! We finally went out and I drove us to PB (Pacific Beach) and walked around there for a while. God some gross pizza and matching sunglasses. We also went into a used CD/DVD store but I wound up with nothing. Michelle touched the Pacific Ocean for the first time, and it took us forever to walk back to the damn car, and we were so friggen tired. We made our way to La Jolla (said La Hoya) , which Michelle said first as it looks, and then La Julia lmao. Random - bigboy lmao. We tried to go to the Museum but we couldn’t find the entrance so we just kept walking around talking to Christina, and wound up at a Baskin Robbins. After that we just left and came home because it was a long day. My aunt made us ziti and her boyfriend Robert was there so it was a nice family dinner. We just bummed around after that watching Girls Behaving Badly which was crizazy! And then friggen Extreme Makeover was on for 2 hours, but it seemed like 5 because we were so tired. And it was near impossible to stay up for DH. But oh man it was hilarious. Let’s cut this bitch open!
Monday
Got up at 8:30 this morning, got ready, etc. We were up early enough to watch Passions on sci-fi which was exciting of course. We left about 11:30 for the Veronica Mars sites. First we went to the Camelot Motel and took a bunch of pictures and videos where Veronica/Logan first kissed and shit. From there we went to VM and Keith’s apartment complex, but we couldn’t really see anything major there. Finally we went to the boardwalk/beach/carnival place and went to some restaurant where the waitress jipped us and didn’t give us our right change. We also saw some lifeguard go in the water to save some kids. After that we went to the carnival type part of the boardwalk and went into some stores and kept looking at rides, but we decided not to go on any. So instead we decided to once again look for the Real World house like we did last year. We had the same address/directions as last year so I knew it was gonna be impossible to find. But once again we went past the airport, and the seaport, and we went ALL the way through San Fiego. Finally we got to all these naval bases and Michelle goes, “I think we’re entering the ghetto.” All of a sudden it was horrible out and Michelle goes, “What if we see a sign that says ‘Welcome to Mexico!’ ?” Because seriously, there were tons of Mexican people everywhere. So we finally managed to turn around and get back to civilization but we wouldn’t give up. We went to this travelguide place and were asking them where it was, but everyone just knew it as the old restaurant the Blue Clam. So the guy there was like, “Make a few lefts” lmao. Ok… So that’s what we did! We made some lefts to get to Shelter Island or something, but it was weird. We had no idea where we were going. So we saw this lady waslking her dog and we pulled over to ask her. She didn’t know what the Real World house was, but when we said the Blue Crab it was like the seas parted. She told us to make some turns, left at the Pizza Nova, and it’ll be on “Fingers.” Okaay. We made the turns, but found no Pizza Nova. Or fingers for that matter. We found ourselves at a Best Western, but the desk clerk had no idea where it was. We went wandering into the bar and asked some older guy sitting there. He and some other woman gave us wonderful directions, and promised us the Pizza Nova would be RIGHT THERE. And thank God Heather’s amazing when it comes to getting us places. Okay so we set out on our mission again and son of a bitch, we saw the Pizza Nova! But there was no where to make a left from there. Then we noticed sort of a fake lane which took us a while to get into, but we made our right and followed it down. FINALLY, there was the house! Seriously, it’s in the middle of nowhere. It’s on a fake street, at the end of a long driveway/parking thing. As Heather said, “How did this place get any business?” So after 3 hours of driving around, VICTORY! So of course we had to go eat at the infamous Pizza Nova, but we were exhausted and not hungry, so it was really just a waste of money - but I didn’t order anything lol. But from there we just came home and chilled. Just us, fried chicken, 7th Heaven, and Augusta, Gone.
Tuesday
Today was Veronica Mars day! We left relatively early and hit the road for the location shoot. We found the YMCA and walked around trying to find them filming, but they were done by then. Then it was off to Ruffin Road to the studio. We followed the extras and I swear we walked RIGHT INTO the studio. Then this security guard says to us, “You guys know where to go right? Just down there.” We laughed and I was game for going down and BSing our way in, but everyone was so nervous. So we said we were just fans of the show and he goes, “Oh that’s not good,” lmao. So he says, “Ok, well if you want, just walk across the field and watch them film through the fence.” So we did! As soon as we got to the fence I said to Heather, “Look there she is! Kristen Bell!” and I just shoved her in front of us so she could see her - yeah she went crazy. We stood at the fence and watched a scene with Veronica and Gia, *throws book down* haha. So then this guy comes up to us and says, “Hey do you guys want to do background work?” Um, “Yeah!” “Unfortunately, not today.” “Oh we’re from out of town.” “Oh ok. Well enjoy watching.” Haha damn. So then we had to move a bit and they went back to film another scene at the cafeteria so we couldn’t see anything, though we did see Wallace in the back. We went to the studio diner -> movie style -> and then hit for home. Actually for Cowles Mountain. It’s this 2 mile high mountain (the highest point in SD), and I’m outdoorsy sometimes, and Michelle always is, but I love climbing and things. So we went there and started stretching like idiots (I’m not even CLOSE to being able to touch my toes…sad). We started up and it was getting hot with the climb but I was still wearing my hoodie. Then I felt my face getting burned so Michelle gave me her giant sunglasses and we were downing her Gatorade. So at the ½ mile mark Heather crapped out and decided to sit on a rock while we finished. We kept going up, and had a great talk about boys and life in general. Since I’m away at school I don’t get to talk to her a lot about these things, so it was nice since you know, she’s like my sister. We made it to the top finally - YAY! And we rested for a bit. It was SO PRETTY! You can see all of San Diego from the top. Oh man I loved it. Then it was time to go down, which I hate. I love climbing, but I have serious issues with climbing DOWN things. I seriously fell like 5 times because it was steep and ascary. We continued our talk and then this lasdy was jogging down behind us, so I moved over so she could get through and I fell! And she didn’t even stop to see if I was ok! Bitch. So then we kept going and Heather popped out from behind a rock lol. Surprise! Eventually we made it down and we were exhauseted. Had to rest a little bit before driving again. But we made it home and put on some 8 Simple Rules and hung out until about 6. We then drove to my Uncle’s house because he was taking us out to dinner due to my dad’s insistence. So it was the 3 of us, my uncle and cousin Jon, NOT the fiancé Suzie thank god, and we went to some Italian/pizza place. I know Michelle’s food was crap, but my ravoli wasn’t that bad. And for the first time in my life he wasn’t a complete ass to me! It was nice lol. Except of course he brought up the wellness floor (I think…) and drinking or whatever. Anyway, then he took us to DQ and my GOD they work slow! I guess NJ is just faster paced lol. So then we just kind of said goodbye and hit the road for home. We got back around 9:00 and watching the 2nd half of AI and chilled before bed. Oh and packed! It was LA time in the morning!
Wednesday
So I got up around 6:30 or 7 I think, and we all got ready for our LA adventure. So we left for the train station at about 8:30 I think, and our train was leaving at 9:30 so we think there’s gonna be enough time. But as we’re driving there there’s tons of traffic, even though my aunt kept telling us there’d be none. So I’m having a mini-heart attack in the car as she keeps telling us that we might not make it on time and we should’ve left earlier. And you know me, I’m the most time conscious person on the planet, so my heart was beating fast and it was just not a good feeling. I mean, this isn’t like NJ Transit with trains leaving every 20 mins. But thank god we managed to find the train station and get there, so we just had to pick up our tickets and get in line. We actually found a 4 seater too. Even if we had to walk a while to find one. Vicky was meeting us on the first or second stop so we were just anxiously awaiting that until I spotted her by pressing my face up to the window. So she got on and we had a nice exciting reunion. I’m trying to think about what we did on the train, but all I can remember is blowing huge bubbles with our gum and having contests of who could blow a bigger one (this is me and Michelle). Oh and I just read in Heather’s entry that I was saying all the Ace Ventura 1&2 and Cable Guy quotes in the known universe. And Crank Yankers. And probably singing the Recycle song.
Finally the 3 hour train ride was over, and we called Christina to see where she was so we could meet. So while we’re looking for her, I’m frantically looking for a bathroom so I wouldn’t pee my pants. So Heather was on the phone with her and then I hear
“I see you!”
“Hi!’”
And I think the first thing she heard me say was, “This is Michelle. I really have to pee. Oh and I’m Jo!”
“I know.”
“Ok well I had to formally introduce myself!”
So of course there was a long line at the bathroom and the door on my stall wouldn’t shut, so I’m holding it with my foot and then Michelle’s like, “Will you hold it for me?” “Nope!” lmao what!?! She didn’t hold it for me! “Just hold it with your foot!” 5 minutes later Michelle came out of the bathroom saying, “I had to get some woman to hold the door for me because you wouldn’t” lol. Oh well. So then we went to Christina’s car and took the positions that we would stay in for the rest of our trip everywhere we went. Vicky in front, and in the back Michelle, me, Heath. And my seat belt, being the middle one, was stuck under the seat, and you know how I am. I wouldn’t give up until I got it out. So there I am panting and grunting and having making sex sounds, until I FINALLY got it out. Oh I just love first impressions.
Christina drove us right to the WB and on the way there they were like, “It’s the Hollywood sign!” So I kept trying to take a picture of it, cursing and yelling because I was very unsuccessful, yet entertaining everyone with my antics. So we got to the WB, parked, and got excited. We wanted to take the first tour we could, so naturally that would be 1:00…but the first tour they had open with 5 spaces was 2:30, so we took it. We were group 13B! 3B!!! lmao. Oh Ross. But we were just hoping 13 wouldn’t give us friggen bad luck on the tour. Anyway, so we were looking at all the merchandise and of course I didn’t buy a damn thing. But it was fun to see everything anyway. And I was freaking starving, but they only had a Starbucks there and I don’t eat muffins or anything lol. So I just dealt with it. And I was watching the Friends ep on the screen, “TOW The Inappropriate Sister” to entertain myself. And this Brazillian girl comes up to us and is talking about the tour she went on that morning. And she said that she saw Matthew Perry which made me almost fall of the bench lmao.
Finally it was time to line up. And I saw some people standing by the door so I was like, ‘Hey guys…move it.” Because I wanted to be in the front row lol. So that’s where we met our tour starter Robbie. We love you Robbie!!! He’s just the guy that introduces the WB video and your tour guide to you. But he was laughing at our shirts because me, Heath, and Christina were wearing “Stars Hollow” shirts, and Michelle and Vicky had GG ones on. So we nabbed the front row and center and then it was WB movie time! Now let me just tell you, this is the best movie ever lol. So when that was done the 2 tour guides came in. *Barry and Abby. So they told us that 13B had Barry and you know, he was hot, so I was excited. And we jumped up and followed him out because we had to be in the front of the cart of course. We threw our stuff in the cart and jumped in the first two rows, claiming our territory. But then he goes to drive and he says, “Oh whoops this is a receiver cart! We have to switch.” So then I got nervous that we wouldn’t have the front lol, so I made Michelle get my stuff out so I could steal the front again on the new cart. And there was this mother and like, 14 year old behind us, who said, “Guess we’re not getting the front.” Damn straight bitch!
So first we went to the museum. And while we were parking, Barry DID NOT hit and bend a sign. Blah. I mean, it’s cool at first. But we’ve seen it all before so let’s get this show on the road. But to pass the time we looked around, and showed Michelle everything, and I got sorted again - twice. Stupid Hufflepuff and Slytherin. God. So while we’re standing there, we hear Barry whisper to Abby, “We have to try and sneak in somehow.” And we knew they were talking about getting us into Stars Hollow, because of our shirts, and because Barry is awesome, and because we knew they were filming there lol. So seriously, we were all just trying to act cool, but we were squeeing at each other and laughing a lot. So then we had to wait for the whole stupid thing to end, so I was just watching the Friends montage video and testing my retarded skill by naming every episode that was flashing across the screen, because I’m weird like that. 20 minutes later, we finally got to leave.
Unfortunately, we tagged along with Abby’s group, which was annoying. We first went to the ER bay…though not really because they were filming. So we were stuck behind the Jumbo Mart (aka Doc Magoo’s) and we saw Mekhi Phifer there too because he was in the scene. They were doing a shooting scene for the finale I think. So Abby started talking to us about it foreveeeeeeeer, and then she goes “We can stay if you want, or we can go somewhere else.” Thank God we left.
Then we went through the little jungle place. And we had to hear about how they shot Million Dollar Baby in the shack for the 100th time, and how many scenes were shot in the stupid lake thing. But this time we drove THROUGH the jungle, which is where we were told last year the Ren. Fair was in 502 of GG. Huzzah! And there was another little house there too.
We went past the study tree next, also central park in Friends. And it was set up for a funeral on Cold Case and there was a casket there and everything. So then we finally got into Stars Hollow via Babette’s house. We were on the left side of it, which is weird…I don’t think I was ever there. So we walked through and the band’s van was like, large and in our face. And we ran up on the steps of the house and poor Barry had to use 5 cameras to take all our pics lol. But it was cool because it’s the *new* house. And then I went over to the mailbox and did my goofy act with pics. And then it was chuppah time, and Gilbert was on it and was all broken, which was sad. And the boat was hanging out of the garage, and was filled with a whole mess of crap. So we walked through there, and they were filming over at Luke’s, so we had to only take pics in the other direction, but I got one of the gazebo before that lol. My bad! So then Barry was like, “Hey go in the gazebo if you want to see them film!” So we did of course lol, but they were on lunch break dammit. And we heard gunshots randomly, so we were like, “Oh someone’s dying! Maybe Chris is killing April or vise versa a la Sheridan on Passions.”
From there we were just crusing around on our nifty carts, and we saw the “Off White House” lol from West Wing. And there were airplane seats outside it. And Allison Janney was just standing there chillin, and she waved at us which was cool, before heading into her trailer. I’m pretty sure that was the last thing we did, but I’m only saying that because I’m stealing from Christina’s entry since I have no concept of what we did when, and that’s the last thing she has written down.
Then it was soundstage time! Yay! So while Barry’s parking the cart, Abby’s leading us inside, but we’re hanging back outside of the stage, and all of a sudden I heard someone, can’t remember who, say “Look it’s April…” So we all like turn around and stare lol. So yeah it was Vanessa Marano with some woman..her mother? And I think she kind of gave us a dirty look lmao. Sorry bitch. You ruined our show. We should throw tomatoes at you. And the woman with her kid was like, “Do you know her from something?” “Um yeah…Gilmore Girls. She plays April.” “Who’s April?” *sigh* this is why you’re not sitting in the front lady. But yeah, she looked nothing like April, but like her IMDB pic with her hair down and wavy. And we were like, “Oh damn we just got out of SH and here they are out of their lunch break. Friggen A.” Plus you know, she’s the last person we wanted to see.
So we walked inside and it was the Invasion set. I’ve never seen the show, so I didn’t really care. And Abby was asking us like, what we could tell about the characters from the paintings on the wall and the locks on the door. Um, who gives a shit. And it was a hot set, so we couldn’t touch anything. Yet as we were walking through the set Abby kept picking crap up. Good move. You just ruined the next episode. And it was a 2 floor set which was weird. So we walked upstairs while Abby wouldn’t shut up on the balcony in front of the other 19 people. And we’re hanging outside, and doing illegal things (shhhhh) until we got to leave finally. So we kind of sprinted down the stairs, but then we realized, “hey there’s no one behind us” because they went down the other way. Lordy.
And the tour cart was blocked in by a huge truck, so we went mosying on into Stage 18 (aka the Dragonfly and Lorelai’s house). And we still had our cameras (shhhh), and you know, “Scott Rocks!!” And we went into the Dragonfly and walked around kind of fast. In the kitchen Heather was like, “It’s Lucky Number 7!” lmao. So we walked around the back of that, and past Lorelai’s house. And we could see Lorelai/Luke’s bedroom and the bed was all messed up lmao. Sweet. And the bathroom too.
After that we went to see Central Perk, but there was a long wait lol. So we had to learn about holding prop forms, which I took lol. So there were like 5 groups in there, so we had to just like, go in for 5 seconds and go back out. But I managed to take a quick pic. So we got dropped off after that because the tour was over, but I managed to grab Barry and ask him about the next day. Since there was going to be 9 of us, and we wanted to have him again. So he just said to request him or whatever, so we decided to just get there ASAP in the morning.
So we went to the hotel after that - Travelodge Burbank/Glendale. We went to check in but we had only paid for 3 people, so we had to play it off that 2 of us were just visiting lol. And the stupid ugly woman at the front desk was like, “If you lose a key we have to reprogram everything!” And was making it seem like we were idiots or something. Ho. And she also said we couldn’t fit a cot in the room. Just what we wanted to hear. And btw, the parking lot was a piece of crap. So we went to our room and OMG. It was so small lmao. The beds were itty bitty, with no floor space at all. The bathroom had no tissues, and a 2 foot wide shower lol. The clock wasn’t even plugged in. So Christina was like, “Hmmm I’m gonna go look for a blanket in my car” and she wound up coming in with like a portable bed lmao.
So I hadn’t eaten anything since like, 7:00 that morning, and it was about 5:30 now. So we decided to go to the mall from “Scene in a Mall” and chill at the foodcourt. Yay for McDonalds. So we were looking for the Forever 21 since that’s where Rory and Lorelai are window shopping, so we went in there and found a cowboy hat. And Heather put it on, and I made her dance. And then I made Christina dance. And Michelle and Vicky too of course. But y’all suck! Man I’m the only one crazy enough to be weird. So I put the hat on and did a dance for the whole 30 seconds for my camera lol. So after that we were looking for the Radio Shack since that’s where the escalators were that they used in the ep. Wow we’re weird. So we went there and then found a Hot Topic. And OMG I got 2 of the best shirts ever. A Hey Dude one and a Salute Your Shorts one! And hey, I just looked online and yo. There’s a Clarissa one. And, just wait for it, A ROCKO ONE. So I’ll be spending more money on those. RECYCLE!
And Heather was like, begging us to leave because she wanted to get back in time for Veronica Mars. And I was just making her crazy lol. So we headed for home, and also tried to find a 7-11 so we could get some breakfast crap. And after what took us FOREVER, we found one. My lovely breakfast - powered donuts and a banana. So we finally got back to the hotel at about 8:40 so Heather wasn’t hyperventaliting anymore. And I looked up the Recycle song since we had been singing it all week long and we just love it. And all during VM I had no idea wtf was happening. But that’s nothing new. I watch it and I get more and more confused every week. But in the middle of it the TV went out and Heather’s screaming and hitting it lol. It kept doing that every few minutes whenever we watched anything. And Michelle was like passed out on the bed. In the middle of the ep. I was reading 619 spoilers for GG and I started groaning lmao. “What’s wrong?” “Oh just reading spoilers. Nothing new.” Lmao. After that we just got ready for bed since we had to get up mad early the next day. But we wound up talking for a long time. The 4 of us anyway since Michelle was asleep and knows nothing about the online world. And yeah, that was fun lol. But then yeah…we had to sleep.
Thursday
So Michelle got up at 6, and I got up at 6:30, but her alarm woke me up anyway so the extra half hour did nothing. Plus Vicky was snoring lmao. So basically we just all got ready, had my donuts and banana, and we called Gen but she was already there! We left at like, 7:57 because it literally takes 3 minutes to get there. And we saw Gen walking towards us as we were parking the car. So she’s the first new person we met lol. We all said hi and whatever, and went right into the studio. The 3 other ppl weren’t there yet, and we really didn’t want to risk that they might not be there, but then I think 2 of them were sitting at the Starbucks lol. So the 8 of us all went up to the counter and asked the girl when Barry was giving a tour and he came out of the back - “Hi guys! I do my tour at 9:00!” YAY! So the 8 of us bought tickets for that and we reserved a seat for Priscilla since she wasn’t there yet. And they were so nice, everyone else that came up to buy tickets they gave a different tour guide lol. So yeah, we were just all hanging out waiting til 8:55 so we could go in, and it was getting tense because we couldn’t find Priscilla and Gen kept calling her. So at like, 8:54 Gen comes out with her…apparantly she had been sitting at the Starbucks the whole time but no one could see each other lol. So yay we had 9! We saw Robbie again, and he was laughing because we were back and still wearing our Stars Hollow shirts. Now there were 4 of us with them on lol.
So we went inside and completely took up the entire front row of the theater/room. And as usual, the movie rocked the house and we could practically recite it lol. So after it was over, Barry came out of the room laughing at us, and said “Hey my group!” And yay!! No one else was on our tour! We were so excited lol. We all went outside and Barry goes, “Remember yesterday when we took the receiver cart? Let me make sure this doesn’t happen again.” Haha oh Barry. So we hopped on the cart in our normal positions, and he asked us if there was anything besides Gilmore Girls stuff that we wanted to see. But there wasn’t. So yay private tour! So he takes us around and was like, “Do you guys know about the water tower? I feel bad that I’m just driving around not saying anything,” lol. Then I asked him if anyone ever told him that he looked like *insert celebrity* and he said he gets that all the time lol. Nice.
We were just telling him everything we wanted to see, which was basically just the soundstages and Stars Hollow. So he told us the gameplan, (which I’m stealing from Christina) “This is the plan. The cast has 10:00 call times, so we’re going to go to Stars Hollow, take some pictures, look around, go check out some of the soundstages, we have to put in an appearance at the museum, even if only for five minutes, and we have to go to the transportation (where they have the cars) and take your picture, because we didn’t do that yesterday, but other than that, we can just see Gilmore stuff, and then we can go back around to Stars Hollow and see if they’re filming anything. Sound good?” Um…hell yes.
So we went right to Stars Hollow before they were filming, and we walked right by Luke’s, and the truck!! That was cool. So seriously, we went EVERYWHERE. First I think we looked in Luke’s and saw the balloons and food and presents set up all in the set for April’s party. Hot set, so we couldn’t go inside. But then I think we just ran around in the park, and swung on the swings!! And I sat on the little duck thing too haha. And we looked in Patti’s studio, and there were some people inside. And it wasn’t set up for anything in particular. More like storage space. And behind Patti’s studio was the place for the Rich Man’s Shoe bar. So then we just walked all around Stars Hollow doing everything. We took some random store pictures, and then went up to Lane’s apartment which had red/orange paper over the windows, but we looked inside the other ones and took some pics of it. Then we went to Kim’s Antiques, and the door was open so I looked inside to see the infamous Prom Video stairs from Friends! Gazebo and mini gazebo time! And Barry, you ROCK for taking pictures of us with like, 9 cameras lol. And standing right by the gazebo at the Growing Pains house was Sherrilyn Fynn who plays Anna. And she was wandering over to the Twickham house because they were filming inside of it. And I really wanted to yell, “Ginger, where’s your leg?!” But we didn’t see her again so I couldn’t. We also looked inside Antonelli’s Pizza, and the Doll Hospital. And there were Chinese Lanterns all in front of the Chat Club lol. And of course I had to take a picture in front of JoJo’s with the crappy ass food. Ooo and the Church’s side door was open too, so we took some pics through there. The Beauty Shop door was open too, because they were gonna film in there, and another secret door was open, so we convinced Barry to take us there and take some more secret pictures lol. “I don’t think so! Homey don’t play that!” Oh and Barry got us some top secret materials/souviners too haha. Barry I love ya.
So after we pretty much did all of Stars Hollow that was possible, we went back to the cart and saw the nicest security guard in the world. We were asking her when they’d be filming, and if we could come back and watch them film. She goes, “I feel you! My daughter and I are big Gilmore fans. I try to get my daughter to watch it with me and she finally likes it.” Haha. Then on the way out of there we drove by the study tree again, and all the Cold Case stuff was gone, so I went out there and did a little “thinking” pose that everyone loved because they all took pictures of me haha.
He told us that we had to make an appearance at the museum because it’s part of the deal, so we literally went for 5 minutes. I think I just stood in the one spot and watched Friends, until we could finally leave. The people there were like, “Have you seen the GG stuff in the back?” Uh yeah. And then we went to the car showroom place with the Dukes of Hazzard Car, the Batmobiles, and the Scooby Doo Mystery Van. And we were like, dying to get out of there. So he took our quick group picture, and in the computer he put it as “Barry’s Gilmore Group” haha. Because we’re so cool like that.
So then it was soundstage time! Holla! I think we went to stage 14 first aka Yale/Rory’s Apartment/New Hospital set. So first we were walking past the hospital set and I think it was pink…or maybe blue. Can’t remember. And we walked through the apartment and man, is it crappy. There were books everywhere, and a pile of mail on the desk. And then we walked out of there and into Yale. We just walked down a hallway and it was funny because on the bulletin boards there’s all these notices that really make no sense. I think some are ones they actually made up, but other ones are just paper that I think they’ve found and put up there. And we walked into the newsroom set which was cool. Paris’s little cubby hole was gone. And it was a hot set I think, but I could be making that up. Oh and we also saw Logan’s apartment for a minute. Oh man it’s so spiffy in there. So after we did some illegal things, we went out and went into the mansion - stage 12. But we went in the back way, so we didn’t walk through the front door. But we did walk in the living room with the candy dish *cough* and then Gen and I snuck into Richard’s study with his while you were out pad *cough* and then we left there. Then we went into Stage 18 - Dragonfly/Lorelai’s House. We went into the Dragonfly and meandered around there and then I spent some quality time in the kitchen with Barry for a minute, before everyone else came in. Oh and the pantry was still there from last year lmao. So after our illegal action, instead of getting yelled at we got encouraged, which was hilarious. And then we did something else exciting, that no fan has done before, and got the hell outta dodge.
Then we went back to Stars Hollow to see if they would be filming anything, and our nice security lady friend told us we could hang out at the Growing Pains house because they were filming over at the Twickham house. And we heard the little “we’re filming/rolling” alarm go off, and btw it was Lorelai and Anna filming in there for Anna’s shop. So Barry told us we could hang out there until they yelled “cut!” to see if anyone would come out…but then they yelled “reset!” so that was the end of that lol. So since we had information now, we were like, “Hey, when else do you do tours?” And he laughed and said he was doing them at 11:30 and 2:30. And since it was like, 11:15, we went for the 2:30 one lol. So we went back up to the front desk, and the same girl was laughing at us. And she used her little walkie talkie and was like, “What tour is Barry doing at 2:30? Can he be 13D?” and she was laughing the whole time. And she said that if we went on the 2:30 tour then there’d probably be more than just us on it. So then we had something to think about…and we thought really quick and decided to just buy out the tour. There were 9 of us, so it’d be like, an extra $12 a person which wasn’t bad. But I felt bad for Michelle so Heather and I split her extra ticket lol. And anyway, this way we were guaranteed our own tour again. Besides, we were originally going to do a Deluxe Tour and Regular Tour, and these 3 tours were cheaper than one deluxe tour. Oh and we didn’t do the deluxe because apparantly they’re doing them this month while they train new people.
So it was only about 11:30 and we needed to eat, so I had my first trip to Carl’s Jr. (They don’t exist over here) And because I’m weird, I’ll even tell you what I had, which was a chicken nugget meal (are you really surprised?) which was pretty good. And COOL they give you numbers and then bring the food right to your table! That’s amazing. So while we all bonded there (actually only 7 of us lol) we were looking at pictures and just laughing a lot, and I did a little Irish dance to the music that was playing.
So then we still had time to kill, and I needed more batteries. So we all went back to the hotel and chilled there for a while until we had to go back to the studio. So we got there (wow I say “so” A LOT) and got ready for tour #3. Robbie came out to greet us before the movie, and said, “So what did you do between the tours?” “Had Carl’s Jr!” Haha. And then there was this other tour guide that came in and was talking to us and telling us how crazy/awesome we are. And he asked us where we got our Stars Hollow shirts and told us he thought they should give us Gilmore Girls shirts for free because you know, we’re awesome. And they had the Friends 10 season box set, but I just wanted the box, since I have all the DVDs lol, and Christina said instead of the shirt I should get that, and then I had this conversation with him about that lol. Oh making friends.
So then it was movie time again which was of course fun, and Robbie sat with us. And I did something really cool because it was a beautiful day. And then Robbie was acting crazy…oh man we love him! And then the tour guides came in and Barry’s laughing and just goes, “Okay my group!” and we all just immediately got up and followed suit. And there was a tour guide in training that was with us the whole time, and she reminded me SO MUCH of a celebrity, but I can’t put my finger on who. But anyway she was hilarious and amazing too haha. Let’s call her Mindy. So we go outside and Barry’s pulls out a little piece of paper and tells us he did some research! On his break! I LOVE HIM! And on the paper are places that he could take us to, like the basketball court where Luke & Logan played in 615, and the gym they went to, and random other things. And we got in the cart and he goes, “Basically we’re gonna scour the lot!” And I guess he told everyone we were back because we didn’t have to go to the museum or any other stupid requirements of the day.
So he drives us right to Stars Hollow, parking at the ER bay, out of sight out of mind, but we didn’t even take our cameras with us. And we saw our security guard friend and she told us that GG was on break for like, 15 minutes I think. And we just walked casually past the caution tape and right up to the Growing Pains house. And then someone said something about our ages, because Barry was like, “Wait, how old are you?!” “21…or 20, or higher.” “Oh man are you serious? We thought you were like 14! Now I can start cussing!” OH LORD. I wanna say it’s because most of us are like, 5 feet tall instead of the fact that we were acting like kids in a candy store. So we were just waiting and waiting and waiting for Lauren Graham to come riding right by us on her bike on her way back from lunch, but she never came. But everytime we heard someone, or any kind of noise, we kind of snapped in that direction. And he was asking us if we wanted to go somewhere else, but seriously. Where did we have to be? So we stayed lol, and Michelle broke the fence lmao. She whispers to me, “Joanna I broke the fence!” because one of the wood piece things fell off lmao. So I’m trying to get it back on, but I can’t so I just kind of stuck it on loosely. And then all of a sudden it fell off onto the sidewalk so everyone was laughing and I think Barry managed to get it back on. Oh and then I had some kind of spaz attack. I was just kind of standing there, looking towards the town, when I noticed a little fly thing coming towards my face. But I waited until it landed like, on the corner of my eye to do something about it. And at the same time I had my hands like, under the strings on my badge. So all of a sudden I went to swat it while I also like, ducked, but since my hands were on the strings and the badge I kind of just started hitting my face and falling over and it was so freaking funny. And Barry was like, “OMG. What’s wrong with you?!” And I just explained it like, “Fly..on my face. And swatting it.” And oh man… Oh and we kept seeing April’s friends walking around, and at one point they started waving at us which was so cute.
So then Barry pulled some strings for us, and we were able to go up to the gazebo. So we were all standing up in there, but I was nervous the bench was gonna break…and that would not be good. So I had to move lol. And they were setting up for filming in the Beauty Shop by this time, so we knew they’d be coming into SH soon. And all of a sudden Heather goes, “There she is!” and we saw Lauren Graham riding in on her bike (with one hand and she had her cell phone in the other…now that’s skill) via, behind the school past the Growing Pains house through the street, past the gazebo and parked her bike. And she was wearing this long blue jacket type thing. And we’re all just like, “OMG that’s Lauren Graham!” And it was her birthday so we all wanted to wish her a good one, but she wasn’t close enough to us. Oh and Barry thought it was hilarious that we knew it was her bday and kept asking us like, “Are you sure it’s TODAY?”
So then Barry, being the amazing guy he is, let us move down to the gazebo to sit. And right next to the gazebo were some crew guys playing horseshoes and I swear I wanted to play so bad! Anyway, there we were, 9 girls and 2 tour guides sitting on the steps, all squeezed together, talking and having the time of our lives. We saw Lauren give someone a hug, probably because they said Happy Bday, and then we saw 2 girls give her some balloons. We also saw Vanessa (April) wearing the same blue jacket thing, and then inside the Beauty Shop everyone was singing Happy Birthday to her. It was ironic that all this was happening because you know, they were filming a birthday scene. So there were decorations everywhere lol.
So yay then it was time to start their rehearsal! And who should come riding in on their bike, right past Luke’s and up to the shop, but Scott Patterson! And he was just hanging out there, and him and Vanessa were hugging and rubbing each other’s backs which was so cute. So then he looked our way, so we just started waving at us, and then OMG he waved back lmao. It was so adorable and exciting! And then a little bit later he waved again, and then turned around really fast and like 2 seconds later he turned around again with like 3 of the girls and they all waved at us. It was so hilarious. And then Lauren came out and they were chillin’ by each other, and then Scott’s phone rang and we heard him say “Hello,” and it’s sad that we care about that. Then some person brought Lauren’s bike to her and she left us unfortunately, and it was the last we saw of her. We figured they were going to put on their costumes, and plus her hair wasn’t done…but it was in a messy ponytail thing so maybe they were doing hair too? Because they had so much setting up to do for the scene, there was really no need for them to just hang around. They started bringing in all these lights and weird things to set up outside the shop too.
But we could be completely wrong about that lol, because all of a sudden they were filming at Luke’s. There was a lot of stuff blocking our vision, but we saw some extras walking back and forth, and then back into position when they reset. And the cars were moving too and some crew guy had some CT plates. And so Barry’s like, “Hey do you wanna go see the Dragonfly again?” because we had to stop back there to look for Gail’s glasses, but seriously, who would leave that spot?!
So security and crew was walking by us like, every 5 seconds, and we were just like, “Act cool! Don’t make eye contact!” but no one ever said anything to us lol. And then the nice security lady came back with cake she was eating (for Lauren’s birthday) and we were like, “Hey can you tell Lauren that we all say Happy Birthday? And to look over at the gazebo?!” And she was like, “Oh I sure can! I told her Happy Birthday before, and she looked at me and she goes, ‘Thank you! Thank you!’” And she was like, squeeing herself lmao. It was soooo cute. And then finally a security guard or crew guy comes up to us with this almond popcorn bag, I think from April’s party, and he goes, “If you’re gonna be sitting here watching, you need popcorn!” or something like that. And we were just like, “OMG thank you so much!!” lol. So we opened that and were chowing down on it because I mean, come on.
So finally a crew guy comes up to us and he told us that they were going to be filming that way, so we had to move. But we didn’t have to leave or anything! They just made us go over and stand on the street kind of parallel with the church. So we hung over there for a while, but we didn’t see anything else. Oh except the little girls waving at us again from the gazebo lol. So unfortunately time was almost up, so we decided to go back to the Dragonfly to look for Gail’s glasses before the tour was over. So we had to walk through SH behind the gazebo and behind the school to get to the cart, because we had it in a little hidden location lol. And the whole time we were driving we had our eyes peeled for anyone from the show, but alas, we saw no one. But we went back to the DF and read the script pages that were taped to the computer, and did a quick run through before we had to leave again.
So he took us back to the store, and we insisted on taking a group photo with him because this is the best group of people ever lol. And we were telling Barry we were gonna fill out comment cards about him lol. So he took the liberty of getting them for us haha, and we were just writing things on the bottom like, “Barry and Robbie are AMAZING and AWESOME.” And it was just so cute. And he gave me his email address so I could email him the picture that we took of all of us and him, and btw - he emailed me back hahaha. I love him!!! So then we went up to the front desk to hand in the cards, and the manager was there. And she said to Heather and Vicky and us, “You guys look familiar, have you been here before?” And they were all embarrased, but I was like, “Yeah a lot.” Haha. And she goes, “You know what, next time you come, call up and we’ll give you reservations. We’ll give you private tours.” LMAO. But duh, we didn’t get a name or anything to say when we go…good thing I have Barry’s email haha. So yeah, we bid farewell to Barry and Robbie, which was sad. But they wished us good trips back and everything. *sniffle* I miss them.
So we were already running late for The Class taping, so we said a quick goodbye to the other 3, and it was just the 5 of us going to Lot 3 for the taping. So we went up to the front to get in line, and LMAO btw - there were tons of Korean/Asian people there and walking into WB studios for a certain scene lmao. So yeah, we got in line, and there were like, 2 lines. And they came around to check our tickets and give us stamps on our hands. And it was 2 weird guys doing it. Some strange man, and then some straightlaced guy with him who took like 3 years to check our ticket and ID, and I swear to God it was like he was in the FBI or something. So they eventually start letting people in from both lines, and we’re getting closer and closer to the front, and I’m getting more and more delusional. And weird guy comes out and tells us that we may not get in, which pisses me off because God we had tickets. So he keeps telling us that he’ll know in a few minutes if we can get in, and we’re seriously at the FRONT of the line…like, no one was in front of us. So it’s taking forever and ever and ever, and seriously, I went mental. I started saying Cable Guy and Ace Ventura lines because it’s my favorite thing to do, and also some Crank Yankers lines, and singing Recycle. And I was doing the Jim Carrey voice of course, and saying the CG line, “So?” with the lisp and underbite and omg it was just so funny. I seriously started having one of my laughing fits and I just couldn’t stop. I didn’t even know what I was laughing at. So Michelle starts timing me to see how long I could go without laughing, and I think I went 2 seconds at first, but eventually I recovered haha. I think I scared everyone with that. So yeah then the guy comes out again and tells us that there’s only 2 seats, so some other people went in. And I asked if there ws gonna be a second seating, and he says, “No because it’s only a run through. It’s only going to be about 45 minutes.” WTF. That’s IT?! Then why the hell did we wait for over an hour?!
So then we left all pissed off, and decided to go to Hollywood I guess. The Kodak Theater? We went to eat at the California Pizza Kitchen, but while we waited for our table we went on this platform thing. And we took some pictures there, and then Michelle and I went mental and started modeling for the camera on it, in front of all these people, and it was so crazy. Everyone probably thinks we’re nuts. So yeah we got our table, and EW I hated the food. California does not know how to make pizza. I think I had it like, 3 times that week, and it sucked every time. I need my east coast food. So yeah, I’m like forcing it down my throat and they were getting a kick outta that. And then we decided to all make phone posts at the same time (Gen, Christina, Heather, and myself). But once again Heather couldn’t get her thing to work, so it was just the 3 of us. But I didn’t like how mine was coming out so I just didn’t make it lol, but the other two were passing their phones around and we were all just talking into the posts and laughing hysterically. I had another fit lmao. So then after that we went down to see the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the handprints at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. And I just wanted to find 2. Shirley Temple, and John Wayne, since that’s the one they steal in I Love Lucy. And Lord it took forever to find John Wayne’s, but we finally got it. So then Gen left because it was like 9:30 (we’re lame). And we were trying to find something to do. So we walked outside and there was this group of break dancers and all these people around them so we were watching that for a while. And then they were asking for $10 in donations before they did their finale. And finally I got sick of them asking for it, so I donated a $1 and got Michelle to too. So then they were like, “Oh be our VIP!” but you know Michelle. So they asked me, and I was like, “Sure!” So they cleared off this crate and had me sit there, and one of the dancers started giving me a massage lmao. And he asked my name, where I was from, and if I had a boyfriend haha. And then I was like, “Okay you can stop now,” so he sat down next to me laughihng. And he goes, “Do you smoke weed?” “No.” “Do you drink?” Now here’s where I’m an idiot. I said, “No I’m a good girl.” And he goes, “Oh well we have to change that.” “Um no.” So he kept talking to me about it, and when the show was over I was so happy to get out of there so I like, tried running away but he made me give him a big hug first and I was just like, “Oh Lord go away.”
So after that we decided to leave, but we didn’t really know where we were going. But then we finally got out of there and found our way back to the motel. And we were mad tired, so we were watching ER, but I wasn’t paying much attention to it so I just dled it and watched it again lol. Michelle fell asleep immediately just like the night before, but we were all pretty tired. And I was falling all over everything because there’s no walking room, and I finally got into bed after I almost broke a hip lol. And so ends Thursday.
Friday
Yeah so we didn’t wake up THAT early. It was about 8:30 I think, and I didn’t take a shower so I felt skeevy all day with my hair up and messy. We needed something to do, but the weather was crappy, so there wasn’t much TO do. We went to CityWalk and shopped a little bit. We bought my aunt a hoodie there, and Sam Goody was having a going out of business sale, so I got ER s4 and Seinfeld s3. I also got Little House on the Prairie for my mom.
After that they wanted to go see V for Vendetta at the Imax theater. And Michelle just wanted to see the Imax lol. But I’m sorry, I’m not paying $14 to see a movie that I didn’t want to see in the first place. You may think I’m cheap, but I’m also realistic and that’s just bullshit. Esp. when I can pay $5 in Roselle Park.
So yeah instead we went to Hard Rock and I got the stupid chicken fingers that have like, 100 spices on them and make you want to rip your throat out, so that was a waste of money.
So yeah, after that we just went driving around, because we didn’t really have time to do anything else. We wanted to go to Beverly Hills, but we didn’t have enough time to find it. So yeah, we just drove around, and Hey Ya came on the radio, so Michelle and I danced like crazy haha. And then we had to take Vicky back to Citywalk since Sarah was picking her up. So we got there early and hung out, reading our GG scripts, and acting out scenes from Raincoats and Recipes which was fun. But then we had to leave for the train station, so we said goodbye to Vicky which was sad, especially since we had to leave her there without Sarah.
So yeah, it was like, 3:07 when we started for the station. AND OMG. Traffic. Traffic. Traffic. It was not good. In other words, our train was leaving at 4:05 and at 3:58 we still weren’t there. And Christina ran a red light lmao. And as I’ve said before, me and time don’t go well together, so I’m having a heart attack. And so yeah it was like, 4:01 and she drops us off, and we hug really fast and make a run for it. I had my backpack on my arm, and 3 other heavy bags in my other arm, and I’m in horrible shape. So I’m running as fast as humanly possible, and I’m like, dying seriously. Plus, the board said track 2, but there was no track 2. So then this guy says, “It’s 12!” So we’re running, and I seriously can’t even do it anymore. And Michelle’s yelling, “I can’t run!” And I was about to pass out. But I’m just praying we make it. So finally we find it, and I started running again, even though I was on the verge of death. And then the conductor lady was there and she’s like, “It’s ok you made it,” but by like, 30 seconds. And then we get on, and we go upstairs to try and find a 4 seater, and we’re walking forever and can’t even breathe. And Michelle just stops and says she’ll catch up because she’s dying. And so me and Heather kept walking until we got to the last car and gave up, and sat in a 2 seater. So we’re seriously like, dying. I can’t even explain. I couldn’t breathe at all. And eventually Michelle gets to us, and she says that she was blacking out, but I know she was lying. Because she says that all the time, and it’s never true. Because you can’t black out from just running, and not like, fall down. And she admitted she was lying, so I don’t know why she said it lol.
So on the train, Heather and I were watching some special videos we had taken, and then the rest of the videos from the trip, and looking at all the pictures and every 5 seconds I was like, “OMG Inspiration!” So yeah we kept laughing after we had recovered and had a good time. And then Michelle started talking to some old lady next to her which was funny lol.
So the deal was we were gonna take my aunt out for dinner, but she just wanted pizza lol. And she wouldn’t let us pay, which made me mad. And the oven broke, so the people had to bring out the pizza to us lol. Yeah so we went back to the house, and ate our pizza and Robert came over too. So we just chilled and ate and talked, and then it was late and we were mad tired, so we just bid farewell and went to bed.
Saturday
We had to get up so early. I got up at 4:40 and we left around 6 I think. But it didn’t register that the alarm went off, and I was hearing it, but I didn’t realize it until Michelle started poking my head. So we got there and I didn’t want to do the curbside check in so we went inside but there was like an hour long wait. By that point I was nothing by extremely frustrated and started cursing, because I just wanted to get to the gate. But I think I was just also upset that we were leaving so it was all meshed together. So we went back out to curbside and Michelle paid with a 5 and asked for change lmao. “Paying is optional.” It’s a tip Michelle!! So yeah then we did security and got to our gate: 31. Since Heather’s plane left 5 mins after ours she was hanging out with us til we boarded, which was early. So we hugged goodbye. So sad. I LOVE YOU. So yeah we boarded mad early. But we still left late. WTF. So the first flight was about 5 hours to Boston. And they changed the AA magazing! So to pass the time we pulled out the Spanish AA magazine and I went into crazy mode. I was “translating” it which was hilarious. Since you know, I stopped after Spanish 3 in 10th grade, and hardly knew anything even then. So yeah I was making no sense and we were just hysterical. And we had a radio and movie on this flight! So that was fun. The movie was “Elizabethtown” and I really liked it. I wasn’t expecting to from what I’ve heard though, and Michelle kept going back and forth from the radio and the movie and didn’t really know what was going on. And I was so hungry, but they don’t feed you on airplanes anymore, so all I had were 2 melted Reeses. And I was so proud of myself! I didn’t get up to pee at all! Even though I had to go so bad lol. And even though I went like, 3 times on the way to Dallas. So yeah, we landed early which was good, because we had to find the next gate. And it was my first time in Boston. Stupid people wearing Red Sox hates. Gross.
So we got off the plane and I was running around for 2 things. 1. Find a tv with our gate number. 2. Find a bathroom. So we’re running around like crazy but we couldn’t find either. Finally a bathroom was in sight thank God. And FINALLY we saw a tv with our flight. Seriously it took forever to find. So then we go to security and they’re like, “There’s no bathrooms or food in here, so do it before you come through.” So I did, and Michelle hung back to get a sandwich. So I chilled there and called Heather in O’Hare and my parents. So yay we boarded onto the smallest plane ever. There were like 15 rows, 2 seats on the right, and 1 on the left. No 1st class. At 5:00, our takeoff time, they were like, “There’s runway traffic. So we can’t leave for about 40 minutes.” Yay. So we were chillin there, and left at just about 5:40. And the flight was like, 45 minutes! Michelle and I just talked about how stupid people are, and how things have changed, and how people are bad lol. So yeah we landed at like 6:25ish which was our landing time anyway. So we got off there and went to get our bags, but it took freaking forever to get Michelle’s…and ok this story is getting boring so I’m gonna stop there.
So that was spring break ’06 lol. Yes, I want to go back next year…but maybe for different reasons as most of you are aware of right now lol.
Michelle - My best friend! I love you girlfriend. You’re not reading this, but I’m glad you came lol. I got to have a real vacation with you that didn’t include the Jersey shore.
Heather - My other best friend/other half! I miss you so much! Don’t live so far away from me!!! Grrr. We have to make plans to visit each other soon because….not having plans is just not cool.
Christina - haha you must seriously think I’m insane. But I’m not I swear! Just a little weird sometimes. You’re so awesome, and my only Friends friend right now…well that’s at least as obsessed as me. So that gives you points lmao. Anyway, I miss you!! And I love you!! Disney!!!
