Left Paris today. I was kind of sad to see it go, honestly- it's definitely started to feel like a home of sorts in the last few weeks. Riding the metro, shopping in grocery stores- stuff like that made me feel like I was actually living in Paris and not just a tourist visiting. Even though I kind of was. Still, I was there for 5 weeks, and I saw everything that I wanted to see. I was definitely ready to go to Dublin. And now that I'm here, I never, ever want to leave. We've only been here for basically half a day (we got to campus around 1pm, and it's now about 9pm), and it's already so much better than Paris in terms of what's available or provided for us here. There's more (and better quality) food, free laundry, better facilities, better rooms (single rooms, actually), and did I mention MORE FOOD? That was the worst thing about Paris- we didn't get very many meals, and the ones we did get weren't always very good.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a tour of the city center (or maybe I should spell it "centre" since I'm in the UK), which should be fun. I'll be taking video, which should get posted to Facebook eventually. I've got bunches of video from Paris up, too, if you want to look and see what I was up to for 5 weeks.
Gah, I can't believe I'm in Dublin. And that I was in Paris just this morning. Surreal. :D
