The avatar he used to reply to superdoogles being a pic of him snogging Maggie, it'd be a little creepy-odd if he was still using that and they weren't. He dated her hence he got her to wear the shirt, 's all that's implied.

It's the context of "[whatdidyado to get her to wear that]?" and possibly the current view that dating's what you do before a relationship, rather than what you do before nuptials.
