I have to go to work in an hour, and I'm not particularly looking forward to an 8 hour shift of cinnabon rolling. It just seems like such a waste of my day. I would rather not have a job, be penniless, and have as much time as I want to wander the neighborhood and write. Screw paper and pencil. If I was poor enough I'd find a salt rock and scrape into the sidewalk. I'd type things up at the library and leave the application open on the desktop, bare and authorless for everyone to read. But, unfortunately, reality follows not that trend, and I am forced to work at a job that I do not like, for now. Its alright. It is allowing me to go to college, and to have fun with friends. Life is full of give and takes, and I suppose I will have to get used to that.
In other news, the pool table is great. There are enough sticks for everyone, but for some reason everyone (at seperate times) claimed the green stick, which I of course also claimed for painfully obvious reasons, and so we lag for it before each game. I get a few badass maneuvers and extremely lucky shots in about every game, and am beaten by a slim margin. I'll get there. Perhaps I'll play for money with Stephen and Danny, toss in 5 dollars each and rake in a cool 15 bucks for a half hour game of pool. But that could lead to some dirty habits, Dave Fain style. Gambling isn't for me, at least not as a life style- but it might be fun to try once in a while, making the game really mean something.
Jo brought me some neat souveniers (ouch, probably spelled horrendously) from Puerto Rico, including a Koqui (sp?) frog keychain, little miniature wooden Koquis, and a bottle of sand from the beach. It was sweet. I can't wait until I can get out of this hell hole and be able to bring someone souveniers. That day will come soon enough, I'm sure of it.
