Grrr...

I totally had an entire freaking entry written last night and of course, this damn compooter crapped out on me as soon as I went to post. Sad how my family computer (which is a Dell, by the way) is more fucked up than my laptop. So here I am the day after re-posting because I was too stuffed with turkey last night to waste energy on the frustration. Here goes...

The bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mounTAIN....and Westerly kicked their ASS! And beat it we did, 27-14. It was the 127th annual rival game between the Westerly Bulldogs (cheer!!) and the Stonington Bears (frigid silence). Yeehaw Bulldogs! Picture this: 30 mph winds, driving rain, a field so muddy you can't see the lines anymore and a band, dance team and cheer squad in blue and white cotton sweats and clear ponchos at their full level of saturation. Westerly was one of the very few who had their band, dance and cheer squad out today becase of the weather. A certain superintendant is going to get a few angry emails this weekend. And I have a feeling that my daddy's gonna be one of the parents to send them. My sister's with the band so I have her back on this one. She and the other bass-drum girl were in tears because they were terrified they were going to be blown off balance by the wind and end up on their backs in the mud. (Those drums catch the wind like an 18-wheeler on the Newport Bridge.) We were going to bail after the national anthem, but the superintendent made them stay for the half time show. Yeah, we were all sitting on the wet, cold, metal bleachers in the almost freezing rain for a half hour doing nothing (couldn't really watch the game because I couldn't see) and then they all had to get out on the ripped-up field-turned-mudbowl to march and dance and perform the halftime show. Which was pointless because it was horrible and you couldn't hear it over the wind anyway. Cheerleaders could barely move because they were all bundled up in sweats and stuff. Yeah, the superintendent is delusional. We all left after halftime. Good riddance. But the football team won. Go Bulldogs!!

Went to my Aunt Nancy's for Thanksgiving dinner. My cousin RJ is doing well. He's going to New England Tech for videogame programming or something of that sort. He's playing for a local football team and he's wicked enthusiastic about it. It's so good to see him moving toward something, you know? My cousin (kinda) Danny came over with his girlfriend and 4-month old baby girl. She was SO unbelieveably cute!! Her name's Ella. I can't wait until Christmas when I can go shopping for her! Jenny was happy too because she's finally not the youngest in the family. That baby's going to be so spoiled. I love it! Joey came too, with his girlfriend. Those two are gonna get married, it's so sweet. She's a great girl, I'm so proud of him. He's still healthy and in remission. I think it's two more years until he's declared cured. Fingers crossed! So stuff is going good on that front.

I'm probably bringing the pup down to the beach today. I wonder if that little blue hut is still out on the water. Only one way to find out, I guess. I stopped by Kidz 'n the Kitchen this morning but I forgot she doesn't open until 10. Or something like that. Well, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go take a shower then take a hairdryer to my shoes to dry them out after the drenching they got yesterday. Ciao!
