Times are shitty... but I'm pretty sure they can't get worse..." Ok. Why am I jumping on the band wagon and quoting Rent? Well... NANY. She came to Keuka on Friday, and I drove us home, and that car ride was filled with interesting news and lots and lots of singing. Then after some dinner, we went to Marc's show, Much Ado About Nothing. I sat with Shane, Nany, and Dee, and we definitely enjoyed ourselves. Elise was so cute, Nany found the love of her life, Kelly fell in love with Nany, and Marc did Shakespeare a whole lotta justice. EXCELLENT JOB!!! Then we went to drop Shane off at work at the McDonald's on the thruway, but we ended up staying till 2 in the morning!! We all (Joe and Heather joined us) got free food, I attempted to make fries and work the register for Heather and Joe, and Nany became a McDonald's worker in the back! It was actually one of my favorite parts about this past weekend, believe it or not. Not sure whether that means I can appreciate the little things in life or that I really just have no life.
Saturday Shane and his mom came with Nany's old dog and woke her up by putting him on top of her. It was fun having a little doggy run around our family room, and Nany loved it. Then I went with Shane to run a few errands, bring the dog back to his dad (whom I finally got to meet), and pick up Marc. Then Elise (and Heather and Joe later) joined us for a Shout About Movies marathon at my house. That was hilarious, even though I sucked as usual. Nany knew an amazing amount of knowledge of the movies, and we all started to wonder if she was cheating haha. But thank God she was on the girls' team!!! Our downfall was when she started getting sick, dying of benedryl, and her filling came out. She really took one for the team that day lol. But we came back. IT'S STILL ANYONE'S GAME!
Saturday night Nany, Shane, Dee, Ricky, and I played Apples to Apples - I won! "Shane stop giving Meghan hints!!!!!!!!" - Nany, in every round. Then Nany, Dee, Ricky and I went and saw Scary Movie 4, which was absolutely harlarious. I just love the old lady hanging on the clothes line lmao. I really don't know why that's so funny to me, but it just gets me. Nany slept through most of the movie because we kept her so drugged this past weekend lol. She'd wake up randomly and nudge me, "Meg, this is a good part, watch!"... *snoooorrrrrrrre* And I don't know why but every single part with a fart or poop joke was apparently aimed at me. Lol. I never realized before this just how active my bowel is. Then when we went home we played Nothing, our fav card game with Nany, and with that, we made an effort to go to bed... emphasis on made an effort.
Sunday... NYC! There was quite a scare in the beginning before we left, involving poor communication between the Russells, Nany, and Nelson, and Nany was going to have to get off the bus and hike her PR ass back to Jamestown. But thankfully Nelson made 2 mistakes, and Steve also wasn't on his list, so Mrs. Nelson bravely sacrificed hers and Jon's seats for the two of them, and I felt awful the rest of the trip, even though the rest of the bus assured me several times that it was not my fault. I ended up buying nothing for myself and Yankees golf balls for Jon. Money solves everything, I've been taught. We didn't have a lotta time in NY though, so we didn't do anything we'd talked about before. We just did the usual.. walked in circles, saw the MTV store, the Broadway and Times Square gift shops, and ate at Sbarro's. Got some cute pics of our little fivesome, though. The show was amazing, though. I wasn't expecting much since it wasn't Nathan Lane or Matthew Broderick, and it's the Sunday matinee with all the understudies, but it actually was really entertaining. I laughed my ass off at the "Keep it Gay" scene, and pretty much the whole thing had me dying. Fun times. The bus ride home coulda been quieter... among other things... but Shane and I listened as best we could anyway to the cd I made for him, on my ipod though. I love him so much it's not even funny. Ok, sometimes it's funny lol.
The next day I drove us home early, Nany and I. She slept the entire way on the thruway, and I didn't have any heart to wake her cause she'd been sick. She was all curled up in her blanket with the heat on. Eventually I started falling asleep, and I knew that was not a good thing. I guess if I'd been alone, I might just have nodded off completely, but good thing I had a passenger - can't kill ma Nany!! So in order not to disturb her heat too much, I switched it halfway between hot and cold, and then I attempted to take off my jacket with my seatbelt still on... Not too brilliant. Took me like 5 minutes, no joke, and at one point I had my hands off the wheel, entangled behind my back in the sleeves of my jacket, as the car rode straight down the thruway. It began to swerve, but I broke out of the jacket and caught the wheel just in time. Good thing, although I woulda used my knees if I absolutely had to lolol. Just glad I didn't absolutely have to! So yeah, that was the briefest of scares. Anyway, we made it back here in time for my next class, Nany sat around in my room and waited for her mom to come, and we chatted with Tiff (so sorry Nany!) hahaha.
I'd rate this weekend as a 9 out of 10. Yayyyy
Gotta go cause 24's on!
