Spring Break was pretty good.
I don't really like leaving Gainesville for extended periods of time, especially to be in Lake Wales, because something always seems to happen that makes me hate being in LW.
However, I will say that I actually had a pleasant stay and I managed to not fight with anyone while I was home. Well, hardly anyone...
I laid out for 4 hours on Wednesday, and when I got back to the room I had a fever.
I was really sick Thursday and Friday, and I had two big tests so I couldn't just skip class. I went to the infirmary Friday morning and got medicine....the WRONG medicine. Apparently penicillin doesn't help strep throat, so it turned into bronchitis. I was sick alllll weekend (thank goodness David drove home, I'd have never made it. I had a 103 temp the WHOLE time) and finally went to my doctor on Monday, who gave me like amoxicillin on steriods. I felt better by Tuesday morning. YAY!
Tuesday I drove down to Miami.
Random story-on my way out of LW, like wayyy out on highway 60, a piece of wood fell off a trailer and I ran over it. I was scared there might be nails in it or something, so I pulled over to check my tires. I was stopped for seriously maybe 20 seconds, max. My tire was fine so I got back in my car and kept driving. Like 10 minutes later, I get a phone call from a random number. It was Kate's parents-they were on their way to Vero and just happened to pass me in the 20 seconds that I was pulled over! SO random. So then, I get stuck in traffic, and they call again....they were a car behind me! so funny.
IT TOOK ME 5 HOURS TO GET TO MIAMI. That's 2 hours too many. UGHHHHH. But I had a great time there. I went out on Jordan's boat, and he took us exploring on an island and stuff. And the weather was PERFECT! Wednesday we went to Katherine's cousin's Bat Mitzvah. It was a blast, believe it or not. I really had a good time! Thursday we went down to Lincoln Rd. and shopped around South Beach for a while. Then we saw Music and Lyrics (we got the tickets for free!), which was actually really cute.
Friday I drove back hommmmeeeee blahh.
But MARCH MADNESS STARTED!!
Seriously, the first weekend of March Madness makes life worth living....FOUR DAYS of college basketball from 12am-12pm = LOVEEEE. :)
I'm such a nerd, deal with it.
GOOO GATORS! We're right on track for a repeat, and even if we don't win again it's still amazingly GREAT to be a FLORIDA GATOR!
Cheerleading=life, and just about death for me. I passed out Sunday at practice after getting elbowed in the temple, that was fun. NOT. We're working our butts off for Daytona in 2 weeks, and it's definitely paying off. We still have a LOT of practice to do though. We upgraded our routine alot, and it's definitely taking a toll on us physically. EVERY practice we get the shit kicked out of us. But it's worth it.
Next week is gonna be CRAZY for me. 2 papers (a 12 pager and a 10 pager, both pretty complicated), oceanography test tuesday, stats on thursday, and human sex on friday....seriously shoot me now. If I survive, I'm taking myself out to a NICE dinner and movie or something. I'm gonna be such a hermit, it's not even funny. UGHHHH. On a bright note, only 5 weeks of school left in my freshman year!! How ridiculous.
