With Singapore being an educational hub, one of the focus is on improving youth literacy standards. Since reading of newspapers helps to improves one’s intellectual and gain knowledge, it is highly recommended that such a habit is cultivated in the younger generation of Singapore. Most importantly there is a need for youths to stay relevant to the current affairs locally as well as internationally as this would enable Singaporeans to further contribute to the society in the future. Thus, it is important that the habit of reading current affairs is inculcated in youths. However, due to technological advancements, youths are becoming more exposed to online news. Thus, this report also aims to evaluate how the increasing trend of reading online news will affect the younger generations and if youths are reading news that would be beneficial to them in the near future. Therefore, Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) can help in cultivating a news reading habit in youths, assist in ensuring that youths are exposed to the right kinds of news and also further enhance the reading experience of youths.
