my summer so far

1. It feels good to never have to go back to high school. I didn't cry about leaving friends behind or graduating. I think I'm more excited and I was ready to get out. I hated high school with a passion. I think I can always say that I've always had more friends outside of my graduating class than in it. So maybe that's why I didn't like it. Anywho...it hasn't hit me really hard or anything that I won't go back to high school. But I'm sure it will in the fall. But I don't think I'll ever cry about it because I'll be so happy and ready to move on.

2. Work. What's there to say. It gets boring sometimes. But I try to bring stuff to do. Or at least bring a magazine to read. I've gotten some sun so far. We are constantly outside with the kids. Which is good, I like it. Except yesterday I played kickball with the kids and it was really exhausting and hot. I am no longer on the teen schedule. I'm a teacher now. Which means that I might have to have one of the teens work under me sometimes. Which will be a little weird. But that's okay. So I love my new schedule, which starts next week.

Monday: 8-4, Tuesday: 7-3, Wednesday: 10-6, Thursday: 8-4, Friday: OFF.

That will be my work schedule for this month. And although Linda doesn't have enough to pay me 40 hours a week...32 is better than nothing or less. I'm really excited about the Friday's off because I think I will be able to get some things done in my room and I'm thinking I'll take some trips down to Bloomington to see my Uncle, Aunt and cousins. And maybe help them with house or yard work, or just to visit.

3. Relevant Magazine is doing this contest thing this summer. And I'm participating. You don't really have to sign up, you just send in pictures at the end of the summer. Here's the link if you wanna see the ten things you have to do to win the contest.

I've already done 2 of the 10 things. I grilled out over at Brian Trivett's house and I've played kickball. Brian and I are planning on going skydiving this summer. (When I save up enough money.) And Laura and I are already planning a camping trip for next weekend and going to a Battle of the Bands for the local concert thing tomorrow night. Laura and I also play board/card games all summer so the game one is not going to be a problem, as long as I win. And Jonathan already volunteered to let me babysit his kids for free. Except he said he would pay Trivett for me babysitting his kids so Trivett could take me out to dinner. It was really random of him to say that, but I thought it was funny. I'm not really participating to win, although I think it'd be cool to win, I just don't think I have a chance. I just thought it would make me have a good summer. Do some fun random stuff that I would never do. Just something to make my summer fun and interesting. I'll try to keep you updated with what I've done.

4. I'm already having a good summer. Laura and I have gone for a walk, which I'm sure I'll beg for more throughout the summer. I love going for walks around 11 p.m. We went to a drive-in this past Sunday and saw "Over the Hedge" and "Just My Luck". It was fun and my dad let us borrow our truck and we sat in chairs in the back. Brian and I went to The Skyline Chili last night. We both had never been there, but it was good. There chili wasn't as good as my dad's chili, and Brian said it's not as good as his mom's. And I've already gone to Dairy Queen a lot this summer and I'm sure I'll go some more. I love ice cream, it makes everything better. So the summer so far...so good.

5. I'm excited about Solid Rock but I'm not wishing the time away until then...I want to enjoy my summer. Relax.

I have to get on out of here and go to work. You guys have a great week and I'll TRY and keep you updated. Love you all!!!
