More Job Stuff
My second interview at CH2M Hill seemed to go really well. I spoke to the president of the office in which I would work and he seemed really impressed with me. Something he said that I really liked was that he doesn't expect me to be in this position for the next 10 years, he likes to think of these support positions as stepping stones into the company. He also said that I am coming on a great time because they are planning on expanding their marketing department and I will definitely be one of the people considered for a higher-up position in the DC office.
So, now I'm just playing a game of hurry-up and wait. I should hear from Cal Tort next week and then CH the week after, so we'll see. I want to know the salary systems for both... how much to start, how often are reviews, how much are the raises, etc. I have a feeling that if I'm offered both jobs I'm going to have to do the responsible thing and take CH, which I guess is OK. At least I wouldn't be the MOST disgruntled employeed there, the senior program specialist (my coworker) really hates the job, but she has the same background as me and is sticking it out for the marketing department to come to town.
The most exciting thing about the company is that it's international and not afraid to sent their employeed all over the world. So who knows, maybe I'll be blogging from Spain one day!
