Aww, thank you for this... It was great. I loved the "Ram" relationship while it lasted, even though Pam and Roy were totally different people. It gave the show a nice, realistic quality. I miss Roy, though! The writers should really bring him back for more than thirty seconds.

They are by no means perfect for each other, and it isn't that I want Pam and Roy together. It's a relationship that, sadly, was worn so thin that it deteriorated and there just isn't anything left.

This is so eloquently put. I kind of adored Pam/Roy as well, since theirs is just such a heartbreaking relationship. Thank you for this spam and making me want to cry my eyes out. ;p

I was trying to root for them in the first two seasons despite the Jam!love because they looked cute, but I agree with you, the writers really had made Roy one-sided. That first bit where Roy was determined to win her back won me over too. Sadness.

this was really, really great...i absolutely agree with you on pretty much your whole assessment of the pam and roy relationship. i wrote a one-shot from roy's pov just before the blowup in "the negotiation" and it was really satisfying to tell his story. (spoiler through crime aid?) i was so happy to see him clean, happy and really just showing passing interest in pam.

and it would have been no where near as fun to watch jam now.
