Weaving together meandering shots that seem like vignettes of black life in New York, Spike Lee has managed to create a pretty engaging study of not just racism but personal ethics. The quotes at the end are a little heavy-handed but still manage to put forth a somewhat balanced viewpoint. A lovely film. 9/10

An incredible study of the social implications of sexual preferences without imputing the film with tedious personal morality. The cinematography might seem terribly dated but somehow, he makes it work. 8/10
