Hammams and soap suds.

So damn hot that I look all sheeny and feel slipperier than a seal (or should that be eel - not sure if seals are actually slippery..)

I want a big - you know I just forget what big thing I wanted. Memory of a flea.

All this heat combined with the stress of a new job is giving me tension headaches. I need a massage, although I tend to go a bit weird when I get massaged - the last time was in a hammam in Syria and amongst all the loofahing and soap suds I nearly slid right off the marble slab. The little syrian man scrubbing me down thought a great way to end it all was by throwing a fuck off big basin of cold water at me after having been par boiled in the steam room, he's lucky my insides didn't explode like a egg plunged into hot water. Time before that was in Peru, and the massage featured some finger and toe massage which had me laughing my arse off, followed up with some back slapping which sound just like a horse trotting up and down my spine. Relaxing? Really?

There's also the problem of dress etiquette - when you just get left in a room with a robe and a towel and you're told to change, what do you do? How much do you leave on? What is proper? I become panic stricken in that time and am usually still standing frozen, fully clothed clutching the robe wondering what to do when they come back.

Lesson learned - Massages are neither relaxing or invigorating.

In other matters - new job is a little weird. I feel like fish out of water and go around with a distant and confused look on my face wondering where in the world you get lecithin with nano clusters and what the fuck you would use it for.
