Well, all we've been able to guess from what Ruka managed to tell Niyo is that they're possibly benefiting from dueling us somehow, but we still have no idea exactly how or why, if they are.

The little one certainly wanted to duel me before his friend interrupted me.

Maybe it's tied into the way they talk about Synchro monsters...

That's possible.
But it has to be a lot more than them using the duels simply to target and injure Synchro users.

So what is it about Synchros that would make two guys from the future, target duelists with them in the past...

I saw a glimpse of its other parts at the end of our first duel. He came straight out with them this time.

I dunno if summoning Draco-Equites would work again. He almost defeated it in that duel.
