I've done a ton of research on this. It's quite facinating.

Churchs worship something. They worship nothing. They call themself a church to get tax exempt status. Now they even have a book called the hard sell to try to get people, mostly the weak and lonely to fall for it. Their brainwashing techniques are no secret (especially since their founders son exposed the company, changed his name, and called it a cult which it is). To brainwash you use tone, smiles, and say the right words at the right times. Other times, they've broken people down by yelling at them for 5 hours while you're backed up against a wall. Of the 5 or 6 books I read by L R Hubbard, one can clearly see that it mirrors his science fiction books. Dianetics is a made up language like science fiction. They made up their own words. Check out the time magazine article if you can find it. It's called "Scientology, the cult of greed." There's some pretty amazing videos now of people that have tried to get out. Their punishment was to walk around a tree for 12 hours. It's clear as day that they're a cult. People willing to expose the company score out of court settlements for 8 million dollars because the C.O.S. has money like you wouldn't believe. PLEASE CHECK OUT WWW.XENU.NET .

The "church" also has in it's laws that as a member you're require to "destroy and discredit" anyone who leaves the church. People have been held against their will. I could go on and on. Read the real story:

Yes I have done my homework too, and am familiar with Xenu.net. I highly recommend it.

They call their "destroy and discredit" policy "Fair Game". It also applies to critics of the "Church".
