i took a trip to camino/apple hill, california
there, i rendezvoused with my folks and stayed at my aunts house on audubon drive
the drive to..
i did three circles through san juan batista (my own garden tour)
felt heavy heat.. attacking my life force in the sacramento valley
although driving the grant line/white rd cut off through elk grove desert nearing sunset
and hitting the el dorado (manzanita) hills at the golden hour
WAS MORE THAN I COULD EVER ASK FOR
it was hitting me! that i was out of town!
i flew up hwy 50 the rest of the way into placerville which is also hangtown, the place where ancient resides and where james w marshall found the the end or
the beginning of now
hmmm reminds me of
'i know perfectly well that we may all die, and relatively soon, in a global holocaust, which was first imprinted, probably against their wishes, on the hearts of the scientist fathers of the atomic bomb, no doubt deeply wounded and frightened human beings' alice walker
goodness.. anyways i had good times with my dad
who has an excruciatingly extensive, admirable knowledge of details from history
we spoke of the hell's angels
and i told him stories of our ranch
i went up to..
my aunt had her first showing of her kimono inspired fiber art on sunday
at a winery near caloma
from her 'write up:'
'there is a sense of reverence when working with vintage kimono fabrics because of their beauty and historical significance... i chose to honor the craftsmanship and artistry of those who first created and mended these kimonos. as with all my work, my intention is to capture the essence and significance of daily life.'
at her show i spoke a long time with an old friend of my mom and aunt
kris
i've been running into her numerous places lately
but up until these times i hadn't seen her in fourteen years
i believe, she's becoming a friend of mine
there are.. the most incredible women in my life
