It's 4.40am. I just got back from Avalon not too long ago - Steve Aoki at Avalon's first anniversary blahblah. My ears are still ringing and all I can say is NEVER AGAIN. Let me give you reasons why. Pardon the intense angst I'm really rather freshly pissed off. (At least not pissed on omg. Puked on once this lifetime is enough I never ever want to have anyone else's weird bodily fluids on my clothing kthx.)
- Avalon sucks. The sound system is awful and they basically make up for its flaws by turning the music louder. I've never gotten back from Zouk with ringing ears before but today it is exceptionally bad.
- The crowd is trashy as hell. I'm not usually this arrogant but somehow going someplace like this really brings it out in me and I can't say I particularly enjoy it. You get a mishmash of crass people, ugly lians shooting their mouths off, and a big bunch of free-for-all sluts. I hate that shit I find it absolutely repulsive and disgusting. I really won't stop short of saying I despise most of this lot and have no respect for them. (Not that they have much respect for themselves anyway, behaving in this manner really.
- My toe got stomped on. Not once, but twice. The first time round by this drunk Malay girl. She started off initially dancing with this guy in white, and then ten minutes later she was dancing with this guy in black. (By dancing I basically mean rubbing body against/gyrating in a manner intended to seduce) AND THEN a coupla minutes later she was with this other Malay guy in a stripey shirt, whom she stayed with for the rest of the night. She was basically being a mega slut, snogging everybody, and leaning on these guys because she couldn't stand straight. As if all of this wasn't bad enough, she stomped on my toe. Seriously. AND didn't apologize. I hope she gets an STD if she doesn't already have one. Ooh or many STDs. Yeah whatever.
The second time was slightly more uneventful, but the bitch didn't apologize either. China woman in black dress, please grow some manners and some eyes thanks. - The crowd is insanely rowdy. Fights happened more than once and bouncers had to push their way past us at least 4 times, no kidding.
- Some of the people are really psycho. Like I don't know wtf they think they're doing. Like today there was this guy who was staring and focusing intently on Aoki. He lifted his arm up slowly and then curled his fingers into his fist and then 'with feeling', he brought his fist down towards the ground slowly, eyes closed the whole time. I gave him a wtf face but he probably didn't see it - eyes closed the whole time ya.
- Steve Aoki is an egomaniac. Champagne showers, crowd surfing, insane demands of his hosts, need I say more?
- Steve Aoki basically made Effen spin overtime because he was too busy feeling self important to come up and spin for the crowd who paid to see him.
- 23 bucks taxi fare home.
- 43 bucks for ticket WITHOUT drinks.
- I HATE CROWDS. For this same reason I feel that Poptart ought to put a limit on their guestlist. Though I do respect that they want to share their music and make it accessible, the congestion in Velvet is really INSANE and completely mars my enjoyment of the event. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Okay but at least the Poptart crowd is way more bearable than the Avalon one.
- SMELLY PEOPLE OH MY GOD HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU LIVED WITH THIS BODY ODOR IF NOBODY HAS TOLD YOU ABOUT IT EITHER ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY HAVE IT OR YOU HAVE NO FRIENDS AND FAMILY.
Feel like going to 15 just to make a nice number because yknow, people make lists in nice numbers but I'm too tired and I think focusing on the negative is unhealthy. Off to sleep. UGH.
