Sorry I had to make two seperate posts to fit both Essays in.

WHY I LOVE AMELIA SHEPARD (471 words)

Now this one for me is more trickier because I'm no way as near interested in Private Practice as I am Grey's Anatomy. Although I have alway's watched it I am a season behind so I'm not exactly up on what Amelia is up to these days. My reaons for liking Amelia....I still at times am trying to actually specially name reasons why. The first time I saw her, something about her just struck me as awesome and bad-ass and I immediatlely knew that she was going to be someone that I enjoyed watching on screen. I think I relate to her in may ways or at least the struggles she's been through. She has a very laid back Zen attitude, or at least she did when she first appeared on PP. She comes across as she does not give a shit and she'll fight to the bitter end and it's something I absolutely love about her. I also think Amelia is super attractive too. I love that while I see her as a stubborn bad ass at times like most she has another side to her. She can be vulnerable and easily hurt like others. The Story-Line of her falling off the wagon when they held the intervention for her - it was so powerful that it took my breath away. To see such a strong woman because that is how I see her, fall like that, to see her at her worst, it drew me to her even more. Then to see her fight and claw her way back up - Well I have nothing but the utmost respect for her for being able to do that - It is no easy task at all and she overcame it - she's strong, intelligent, funny and witty. Her sense of humor makes me laugh constantly. Her friendship with Charlotte is also another reason why I like her, there is something about their friendship that I really respect and love. Overall I think she is one hell of a character and in the earlier seasons and when she was having troubles, I always found the fact that Derek saw her as...fragile or the fact that she just plain out annoyed him - it made me like her even more. She's pushy but she cares about her family. It feels as though all she wanted was her brothers love and respect and I love that family means a lot to her. Overall Amelia is another complex character with many layers but I love what I see on the surface and I love what is beneath - She's another intelligent, beautiful, head-strong, loyal woman - She has a lot of the attributes that I value a lot in her and for that she is my second favorite character.

I love Amelia too. I agree that Derek seems to hold grudges too long. I could see if maybe Amelia was still doing drugs and was going to screw him over somehow. But, she wasn't when she came to Seattle.
