So I'm watching Defenders and ...
... I love how each character's scenes are filmed in their color palette - red for Matt, yellow for Luke, green for Danny and blue for Jessica. It's really cool looking! And it means you can tell at a glance whose part of the storyline you're in.
It reminds me of how incredibly cool the coloring was in Daredevil (in a way I haven't noticed as much in the other shows, though that might just be because of getting used to it - but I remember being really struck by that the first time I watched Daredevil).
I'm early in episode two and just got to where Jessica's and Luke's storyline come together for the first time, and it's staged in such a way that the scene has both their colors in it (Jessica's blue and Luke's yellow) - like there's blue walls, yellow/tan doors, blue and yellow FBI jackets, yellow police tape with blue background lighting. It must have been incredibly challenging for the set designers and props people to manage to achieve this, but the effect is really cool! (And makes me think that eventually when they're all four in the same place we'll end up with a full color palette, sort of like those "you can only see color if" soulmate AUs.)
So far I'm liking this a lot! The people who said in previous comments that the tone was more like what I liked about Iron Fist (not as dark as the grimmer shows in the 'verse) were right. This is right up my alley and I'm having a lot of fun.
