Update between Breaths...
I had an idea for an update today and I scrapped it. Things kinda went sideways this weekend. Long story short - i spent half of my weekend in the ER getting tests done. Not fun, tiresome and draining.
For the longer version, it's a bit personal and not something most people want to talk about. Mostly it started because for several weeks now i've had small points of sharp pain in my inner theigh and groin. I mentioned it to a friend who asked in all seriousness when the last time I checked myself, ie fondled my testicles. To be honest, i don't often do it, and because they mentioned it I did and regretfully found something. That night i went home, had my wife check it and she took me to the doctor the next morning.
The pain the doctor believe might have been a hernia, because of the amount of pain when she applied pressure (and it was a LOT) she insisted I go to the ER to get checked out and have a CT scan. After getting some lunch and heading to the ER, we spent 2 hours in the waiting area. While I understand that i wasn't dying right then and there, it was mildly irritating that i was made to wait so long when the doctor said she was calling ahead to warn them.
After i got a room the attending ER doctor checked em out and determined that at least i didn't have a hernia. Because of the pain and the 'mass' on my left testicle she ordered an abdominal CT and an Ultrasound of the mass and to check my testicles.
Thankfully the CT determined that there was no hernia, but it also didn't find any obvious cause for the pain in my groin. Hopefully I just tore some tissue or something and it'll heal in time. The ultrasound, thankfully, found that the mass isn't part of my testicle, it's part of the tissue lining around it. They couldn't determine what exactly it is, so now I have to see a Urologist about the mass.
