(no subject)
Ow ow ow ow ow my (still injured) foot HURTS. I guess it came from tripping over the gamecube controller and landing on my foot (TWICE). But I'm also trying to walk around without a limp since I heard it was bad for my leg to keep doing that, and my foot really doesn't like that. I agree with the advice though - the doctor told me that I was supposed to be able to run a week after my last appointment, and that was... idk three weeks ago? And I can still barely run.
Also, one of the lower managers broke her ankle. And sprained her other one. It must be a B&N curse or something. And I told Josh about how him harping about me not needing a cane anymore genuinely upset me, so I think he's gonna lay off on that.

Admittedly, it's the nostalgia that really makes Tales of Symphonia the top spot. It was the first J-RPG I really got into, the first game that made me stay up really late hours, the first game that really got me long lasting friends, the first game I roleplayed from... It deals with a lot of firsts for me, and while this might sound odd, it's one of the things that pushed me to be who I am today. A game doing that, hahaha. Every time I replay the game I can't help but get that little happy feeling in my chest when the music first starts up and Kratos' voice comes in.
I think it's because it holds such a special place in my heart the spin-offs, sequels and OVAs piss me off so much. LEAVE IT ALONE, IT'S PERFECT THE WAY IT IS. Sure, it has a ton of flaws, and it's really cliche, but I still love it to pieces and wouldn't change a thing.
2. Favorite Main Male Hero
okay this one might be a surprise
It appears Lloyd has been kicked out of favorite male hero by Luke, and not just because I roleplay him. Heck, I roleplay Lloyd too! I think it's because of the absurd amount of development Luke goes through. I've heard on the other memes that Yuri is cool because you don't have to go through all of that with him, that he's already got his stuff sorted out, but I LIKE Luke because you can guide him through that. You grow with the dude. YOU help sort out and shape this person into being who he is at the end of the game, so I couldn't help getting attached to the guy. And I dunno, I always heard people found him SO ANNOYING post-Absorption Gate because of his emo, but I... didn't? I found his emo valid and reasonable, and not at all overbearing or annoying. And if it weren't for his love interest with Tear, I'd probably find him one of my very favorites in the Tales games. At least he isn't too loud about it.

Okay, so my knowledge of Rutee comes from Radiant Mythology and nothing else, and I'm not sure if she's IC there. But from what I've seen of that as well as roleplay? I have a feeling if I played the game, I'd LOVE her. She's not annoying, but she still has good intentions, and her relationship with Stahn seems to be more flirtatious than the innocent "oh no I can't tell hiiiim" or oblivious love. At least, that's what I got from RM. Heck, she takes care of an ORPHANAGE. And, well... All the other main female characters I just plain dislike, so there's that too.
4. Favorite Male Side Character
Now THIS is my favorite Tales character of all time. You don't really realize just how surprisingly deep this guy is until you do something like roleplay him and try to figure him out. But what else can you expect from someone who's 4,000+ years old and has issues the size of America? I love his dad issues. I love his betrayal issues. I love his attachment issues. It's just so NEAT to explore.

5. Favorite Female Side Character
I admit, it was a toss-up between Sheena and Natalia. The thing that broke the tie was how they act around their love interests - Sheena actually isn't so bad around Lloyd or Zelos (at least, in the game she isn't), whereas Natalia... just made me kind of angry when it came to Asch. Especially in Ortion Cavern. HATED how she went from such a strong person to suddenly "/FALLS INTO ASCH'S ARMS OOOOOH ASCH OOOOOH" it just. Pushed my buttons so hard. Anyway Sheena is just AWESOME to me. I guess you could consider her a typical tsundere, but then you get deeper and realize that she was responsible for the massacre of half of her village, and that was when she was a LITTLE GIRL. She's a badass summoner and a NINJA at that (though I'm not sure how she can go around wearing bright lavender clothes). Just. Hell yeah.
