HOLY FUCK PLAY MY CARD GAME

I invented this card game playing cards and smokin cigars with adam and tous one day. So learn the rules and play it.

Captain Grundel Beard

The official rule book as written by the Captain himself. September the twenty seventh. In the year of twenty oh five.

This is at least a two player game, although technically, there is always an extra player called The Ship, which resembles the Kitty from Cribbage, and the house in Blackjack.

Deal begins by dealing one card to the ship, then to the dealer, then to whoever sits to the dealers left. No matter who the dealer is, the ship is dealt to first. Dealer status is obtained by rotation, and dealer deals two hands before relief of duty.

The object of a hand is to obtain the lucky number thirteen. Cards 2-9 are worth face value. 10-K are 10. A is worth 1 or 11.

The dealer deals one card to every player including the ship. The ships card stays face down the entire hand. Each players initial card is face up.
The second card skips the ship, and the options Yea, Neigh, or Abstain are presented to the dealer.

Yea (pronounced “yay”)- 2nd Card face up
Neigh - 2nd Card face down
Abstain - 2nd card is dealt face down to the ship. All shout “2 to the ship! I abstain!” For no other reason beside it’s jolly and merry. Argh!

The player to the left of the dealer is only offered the option of Yea or Neigh. This goes until all players are holding two cards.

Note* Only the dealer can abstain, and only on the 2nd card. Once the ship has two cards, it does not receive any more.

After a third card is dealt to everyone (except the ship) the point system begins.

If the hand held is:
1 Card face up. 2 Face Down - Then the player has the option of flipping only one card.
2 Cards face up. 1 Face Down - The player can keep the two cards face up as their final points, or flip the third card. If they flip the 3rd card, then that is used to either subtract from the first card (only), or add to the second card (only) in order to make thirteen.
Ex: First Card Second Card Flip Card
K 5 8
The player would want to use their flip card to add to the second card creating 13. Otherwise that would mean they had 18 (called walking the plank), or a measly 2.
3 Cards face up. - The third card can be combined in addition or subtraction to either, but just one card.

Ex: First Card Second Card Flip Card
6 3 9
Combining the 6 and the 9 gives the player either 3 or Walks the Plank with 15. Combining it with the 3 gives 6 or 12.

The winner of the round then has to flip the cards in the ship. The ship cards are simply added together. If the ship has 13 it always wins. The ship winning is called a sink.
“Oh shit First Mate, I was sunk!”

Other rules. If two cards are dealt face up in succession on suit (as in 2,3 or 7,8) they can be combined to make another. Cards suited red and in succession result in the number above. A 2, 3 of hearts or diamonds makes a 4. Cards suited black and in succession result in the number below. A 5,6 of spades of clubs makes a 4 as well. This is only an optional rule.
