"we could get some Dutch powers up in here!"
Today Korean school was sort of hair raising, for two reasons: the secondary one being that today's samulnori class was missing a number of people, and left me as the only person playing the buk drum (풍물북, pung mul buk, it's the bass, basically) which has its own line different from everyone else's and aaaa. But that went well actually, because I love this damn drum and samul nori is really cool. My arm is sore from working so hard! (That's what she said.)
The major one was this poetry presentation... thing that everyone was doing, and the principal was REALLY KEEN on us both doing it, and we were petrified because lol there were judges and lol everyone was there and lol you want me to get up in front of a bunch of people and read hangul ok lol. But we both did, to varying degrees of effectiveness (graymary got all the way through hers, I got nervous halfway through and bowed and went I'M SORRY in Korean, ("미안해요") to a LOT of "that's cute" style laughter thank god my fail is adorable or something) and yeah so AAAAA NERVES. And we were like heeeey, we did it at least! And our fellows were like yaaay, you tried at least! But just now the principal called me on my cell to basically just say, "I was really happy you did that, I felt really proud, good for you!" and to insist that when I say good night to her I can say it informally (she's a middle aged lady) like friends do because "we're friends!" And now I can't stop beaming. Yay I tried something scary and made someone proud of me! She's the woman who's gone out of her way to make things happen for us at this school, too, so I'm glad she's pleased. ♥
THENNNN we stopped by the local dollmeet to see lyzrd before her STOMACH EXPLODES WITH ALIEN PARASITES and saw weirdnessmagnet and sagejupiter and gambitslady and eeeveryone and it was really nice guys! I've missed you. :) Then it was brief pants shopping and then we came home and uh, slept until like. Eight thirty just now. I think we are sicker than we realize.
Friday I hung with maurheti who remains an amazing human being and tomorrow me and Em are meeting up with our friend Hedge to see a movie. God I am so social, wtf.
