Summer Part 3 (tl;dr)

Jul 04, 2009 00:23

Wed, 6/24 - Watched Transformers 1 with Monica and had an incredibly lazy day.

Thu, 6/25 - Watched Transformers 2 with Monica and Van. I already wrote my review on the movie! RIP Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett :'(.

Fri, 6/26 - Shipped out my laptop to HP for repairs at a Fedex in the Sheraton Hotel. Man that was not easy to find. Went to Warped Tour. Traffic was fucking terrible on the way to Pomona, and it took me forever to get inside. I ended up only getting to see a few bands, but I'm glad I caught 2 bands that were on my list of 11 (out of like 80 bands): Less Than Jake and Bad Religion. I was supposed to meet up with Jay, but he was chauffering his girl cousin around.. and she listens to bad music (Millionaires: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubfWnIid5J8). I wanna go to the L.A. show at the end-leg of the tour to see all the other bands I missed: Thrice, Anti-Flag, Underoath.

Sat, 6/27 - Worked all day, had Subway like usual. discovered the deliciousness of Sweet Onion sauce. Went to Apollo's with Chris and Van, got that new delicious iced coffee from 7-11, played some Guitar Hero World Tour, and went bowling in Fullerton.

Sun, 6/28 - RIP Billy Mays :'( I can't believe I just saw the man like 4 days before he passed away. And on that day, we were mourning the loss of Ed McMahon. So weird and sad. Worked a full shift, got a 640GB external hard drive for $15. Sweet deal, or SWEETEST DEAL?! Also watched the BET awards. Inappropriate things: letting Joe Jackson talk and Drake & Young Money's facepalm performance. Who let Wayne's daughter dance on the stage while they sang "I CAN MAKE THAT P*SSY WHIIIISTLEEEE." Oh wait.. that was probably Wayne.

Mon, 6/29 - Got my iPhone! Tried to Jailbreak it, but found out that 3Gs Jailbreak isnt released yet. Still got a grip of useful and useless apps including: AIM, Brick Breaker, Leveller, Shotgun, Mancala, Weather guide with hot babes in the background, Brain Game, Translator, Paint, Switchblade, Crazy Facts, and Flycast radio. Went to Oki Doki to find out it's turned into some shit indoor Korean smoking bar now. Also got 3 for 3 Wienersnitzel deal with Monica. I'm glad that's back. Then went to Chris' and hung out with some of the Lexus guys.

Tue, 6/30 - Watched a couple episodes of Weeds with Monica. This season isn't as good as the earlier ones, but its starting to pick up a little. I like it much better than when the uncle was around, but it still ranks behind U-turn, Conrad, Guillermo, and D.E.A. agent. Also helped Monica set up her and Michelle's iPhones, since I got mine a day before them. Got Chinese takeout from Hong Kong Express, my favorite Chinese takeout place. Also got groceries from Ralphs, and went to target for a new digital antennae, but I'm thinking I might go back to that $30 one cause this $20 kinda sucks.

Wed, 7/1 - Ate at this Korean resturant with Nina's family, my grandma from St. Louis is in town. Went to Chris' with Monica - made Hamburger Helper Beefaroni and crepes with waffles, strawberrys, banana, nutella, vanilla ice cream. Shit was so cash:

Thu, 7/2 - Got my lappy back today, everything fixed. Costco with HP delivers such good customer service. Got my new parking permit for Coastline lot, went to Hometown Buffet with family, watched Bones.. such a good episode. I like the actors: David Boreanas, John Daly Francis, Zooey's sister.. haha. I think her name's Emily Deschannel. Also watched So You Think You Can Dance. Another Asian got kicked off. I'm not really sure, but I don't think there are any left.

Fri, 7/3 - Volunteered at Anime Expo in L.A. with Monica, Chris, and Danny today. At first, it took us forever to get a shift, because there were so many volunteers trying to get free day passes. Basically, you work for 4 hours, and earn a free day pass. So me, Chris, and Monica just played a bunch of games: Jenga, Where's Waldo, Apples to Apples, Barrel of Monkeys. When we finally got called, we ended up working at registration.. probably the best place to work. We were all the guides for people to fill out forms, go to pay, etc. I was in the front, stopping selective cosplayers to take their pictures. There was a super good (read: hot) Rikku
and some really good FF13 cosplayers I got pictures of. Will post pics tomorrow or something. Our leader was a total control freak, srs bzns type guy. Got mad at me for moving like 6 feet away from my spot. Good thing I took him seriously. Anyway, after our 2.5 hour shift, we went back to the volunteer room and they told us there weren't any more shifts we could get before the main exhibit hall closed. The whole point for us volunteering was to get the hours to get into the exhibit hall! Well, Diana, the manager at the volunteer room tried to help us, but she said the passes for us would not come for a few hours. So we ended up going to the main exhibit to try plan 3 (the first two plans being getting the hours honestly and trying to coerce Diana to give us badges). Basically, I told the black guy who checked passes at the bottom of the escalator "we finished our volunteer hours, but they ran out of badges at the volunteer center so diana said that we can just go in." And he said "OH IONO.. MASSA SAYS NOBODY GETSA GO UP DA ESCALATA LEST THEY GOTS A BADGE." Just kidding. He said "oh.. okay" and we went up. The exhibit hall was basically Comic-Con, but more Asian. The awesome toys of Hasbro, Bandai, and Mattel were replaced by tons of figures of anime girls and such. Also, I met some of the people from Power Rangers! I got to meet the second yellow ranger:

Yeah.. she was really cool. Also, got to meet voices of Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd, and that gray bird thing that made bad guys out of clay. After the exhibit closed, me, Chris, and Monica left to go find a sweet genuine taco place in L.A. We went to a Flora Blanca first, and they had like genuine Spanish food, but nothing with tortillas! We ended up at King Taco down the street, where they had delicious mini tacos. The salsa was incredibly spicy, but it was really good. Then I got home and knocked out for like 2 hours.
