One thing I'm happy for is that my life provides very interesting moments. Today, while at a nail shop near my work I was enjoying a relaxing pedicure and a really nice lady sat next to me and we were chatting about random things. Some how we got on the subject of the city she lives in (Lake Stevens) and one element of the conversation led to another and I found out the gal worked with my Aunt and Uncle at a grocery store in Everett, 30 years ago! She had been to my Aunt's house on Lopez island and knows about my family. Another reminder that this is a very small world. She was an absolutely lovely gal and I gave her my email and am going to put her in touch with my Aunt so they can chat. Totally made my day and I let her know that. She smiled and said she felt absolutely the same.
I just got a text from Mr. Rockstar - looks like he's having a nice evening at work as someone just gave him a $60 tip and he's only half-way through his day. It reminds me that there are still good and generous people left in the world.
I have Gratitude
- I love Mr. Rockstar so much and appreciate all he does for me. Coming home to all the trash and recycle out of my apartment was nice. He knows how much I hate that chore. I also appreciate how he leaves quarters for me because he knows I hate to do laundry but I hate it even more when I have to find quarters after finding any motivation to even do the laundry in the first place....
- Mom is a good participant with things I ask her to come to. She's so willing to make the drive downtown to participate.
- My Bro is making headway - he had a hellofa year, last year, and he's determined to make this year as good as possible. I'm hoping he'll be moving to Redmond by August. I will be a very happy Sis when he hosts a BBQ at his place and can really take charge of work/life balance.
- My kitty is so sweet. She is almost like a dog when I walk through the door. Chatter-box and wanting to hang out. She's going to be 11, in a couple weeks, and I'm completely in denial.
- I'm grateful for my Acupuncturist. She's a goddess and I feel so wonderful for days and days after my appointment. I am grateful for the nice massage lady that referred me to
Grassroots.
- I'm happy that
Redhook is not completely discontinuing their Blackhook Porter.
- It was very nice to see really cool people at JH's going away party at work today. Whenever I visit my old team, I get nostalgic for the very creative things we always did. Participating in today's skit was a blast and has inspired Christie and I to look into participating in local theater.
- I appreciate the nice note that SLC sent me after my interview for the job in Renton. I went out on a limb to interview for the position and I think she knew it. I'm grateful that I was able to meet with a notable mentor, prior to the interview, and he built my confidence to even interview for the position in the first place.
- I am grateful that I have a full social calendar. I've always been a busy gal, but my friends are lively and super interesting. A party at Mama's Mexican kitchen this Saturday and a party in the VIP room @ Tia Lou's afterwards and then a Champagne Thursday party @ Vicky's next week, followed by a 5-day vacation and then into BBQ season and the shindig for Irish Day @ Emerald Downs. I'm truly blessed for having friends that keep me busy and entertained.
- I'm grateful that my work will pay for my UW tuition.
- I'm grateful that I completely scored on some cute clothes yesterday. A Ralph Lauren navy blue summer jacket, a pair of designer shorts and the prettiest green banana republic top and all of them only cost me $40 bucks! I was able to score a pair of designer Joe's Jeans for $40 too!
- I'm happy that I went to the gym on Monday. I've been (almost) successful in going atleast one time a week. The muscles in my legs are feeling super toned and my arms are slimming down. Here's hoping I can go two times a week, starting next week. *fingers crossed*
