Domestic Mondays

May 10, 2010 20:04

Monday evenings seem to be my "domestic" day.  I tend to do all my chores and cook a big homemade dinner along with running errands and getting the grocery shopping done.  By the time I'm finished with all of these things, it's late, and I'm too tired to try and tackle homework.

For some reason, I think I've been slowing down a bit and seem to be a bit more tired.  Perhaps due to the weather change, but I think a lot of it is that I'm "bored" (for a lack of a better word) at work.  I have lots to do and I feel that what I do is value-added, I guess that I am seeking something more challenging and stimulating.  The stress-level at work is low, as of late, and that could be the factor.  I like to be pushed almost to stress to perform to my absolute best.  I then manage to carry over the overstimulation of the day to home and get all my chores, homework and other obligations taken care of.  Odd...

On another note, I visited Grass Roots Acupuncture, in Fremont, last week.  I'm super impressed.  I'm going to make a commitment to visit once per week, for an entire month, and see how my results are.  After one week, I can't believe some of the differences that have occured.  I went in for fatigue and the first 3 days after the treatment, I was bouncing around.  Lots of energy.  I love that you can schedule online and that the sliding scale of payment is really reasonable.  There is a lot to be said for places like this and how they have a commitment to the community.

School is interesting and allowing my mind to function in a more creative way.  Art class is far more interesting than I anticipated.  My UW advisor was super cool and created a plan to transfer all my credits for my former major to a new one, now that Big-B has some stringent guidelines on what they will pay for.  Workin' that system.  ;)

Mother's day was really nice.  We started the day with a late lunch at Ruth Chris' steakhouse where Mr. Rockstar, Jay and I gave gifts to my mom.  Lunch was delicious.  Then, off to Rockstar's sister's new place in West Seattle and a yummy dinner with Rockstar's mom and his delicious cocktails.

The schedule for the weekends will be a bit of a change as Mr. Rockstar's work schedule will have him away Tues-Sat at his bartending job.  The bonus is that friends and I can visit him on the quiet nights to keep him company.  Glad to have one more full weekend before he's off to the new schedule.  Looking forward to the events of this week - Charity Benefit @ Nickerson Saloon in Fremont this Friday, relaxing on Saturday and much fun to be had at Lizzy-B & Brian's wedding reception on Sunday.  I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they open their wedding gift (an amazing Absinthe Fountain from New Orleans).

Well.. off to have a lite bite.  Homemade soup is done.  :)
