Been sick for almost a week now. No fever. Just cough, cold, and headache. Good thing I'm not feeling lethargic and I've been able to work my ass off at home despite the coughing and sneezing and dizzy spells. I got the virus in HK and it would probably have lain dormant if it weren't for last Saturday's ill decision of going to the Temple of the 10,000 Buddhas and climbing 431 steps in the killer heat and humidity then going around in Mongkok for a last-minute (and nearly futile) attempt at shopping. Seven hours on one's feet is not really a good idea when one is not feeling well, to begin with. But my stubborness got the better of me. I felt bad that I wasn't able to go around much last week because of work that I was compelled to make the most out of my last day in HK.
The last visit to HK wasn't as packed with adventures as I originally planned, but I'm content that I was able to experience a lot of firsts on this trip, like take the bus from the airport to TKO (only HK$24 as opposed to the HK$90 airport express + HK$11 MTR that I used to take), watch a local gig at The Wanch in Wan Chai, see a movie (Up is fuzzheartwarmingly good!), and go around town on my own.
I went to the Hong Kong Museum of Art; revisited the Avenue of the Stars; roamed about TST and ate at a local restaurant alone for the first time; conquered the Temple of the 10,000 Buddhas; and explored a Chinese cemetery (by mistake). See, I thought the cemetery was the 10,000 Buddhas temple as it also had a Pagoda at the top of the hill. In hindsight, I must've looked like a complete dumbass with
the bandmate's DSLR slung over my shoulder and taking pictures of tombs! I thought the people there were tourists or pilgrims--they were the bereaved relatives pala! *facepalm* Turned out the Temple of the 10,000 Buddhas was the structure next to the cemetery.
Anyhoo, I'll upload pictures soon (really!). :D It was my first time to use a DSLR and though I didn't know what I was doing half the time, some pictures turned out great. :)
