A Quickie Before Dinner

Phuket, Day 1

Yesterday we arrived in Phuket to be greeted by a bright and sunny day. :) But we were too tired to go to the beach and swim because we were up by 3am and our bodies were clamoring for sleep by the time we got to the hotel. But it was a nice feeling to know that we gained an hour because we have entered a different time zone. :)

Come lunch time and for most of the afternoon, it was raining. The timing was perfect because we were too tired to go out of the room, even for a dip in the hotel pool. So what we did was eat lunch, have a wonderful frozen amaretto cake dessert, sleep from 1-3pm, get an authentic Thai massage, lounge in our very nice room (will post pics later), then have a really sumptuous dinner--the kind that makes you feel you're prepping for a hanging. ;p That was our first day in Phuket.

Phuket, Day 2

Woke up at 8am, had a hearty and healthy breakfast (good food, as usual), trekked to Karon  Beach and checked it out (it's a 15-minute walk from our resort--I'm kinda paranoid over the occurrence of a tsunami ;p), visited the Karon market, strolled along the beach strip dotted with local shops, had lunch at a local restaurant (you can't go wrong with the food here, I guess), went back to the hotel to get some gymcercise (they have a gym here so you have no excuse to miss your workout program), went back to the beach for a swim, or rather for some "bodysurfing" (it's surfing season so the waves were kind of bigger than normal--but not too big that would scare me from going in the water), went back to the hotel for a dip in the really beautiful rooftop pool with a postcard-perfect view of the sea and the mountains. After all those activities, I just had to nap. And now, we're just waiting for another super delicious dinner to be served. :)

Tomorrow we're taking a cruise to Koh Phi Phi Leh and Koh Phi Phi Don (where the Beach was filmed), Maya Beach, and Monkey Beach. I think there's another beach we're visiting, but the name escapes me at the moment. There will be some swimming and snorkeling involved. It's sure going to be another perfect day!
