Watched
NOFX last Wednesday and it was quite the experience! It was actually my first time to watch a foreign band. I hardly watch concerts. Yes, I'm such a pathetic loser! Haha. For the most part I couldn't believe that I was physically there and watching a band that I only used to hear on my CD player. Thanks to a good friend for the free passes. :) I had planned on watching a French film that night but decided otherwise when I realized that this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And it was about time that I revisited the old punk days and reminisce on my early musical influences.
There weren't that many people but those present almost brought the hall down--literally! Sadly, I had to stay clear of the moshpit. I wanted to join in the testosterone-charged moshing just for the heck of it, but I was afraid to faint in the craziness. I worried because before the show started, I felt an anxiety attack coming. Probably from the mixed excitement and nervousness. Knowing that it was a punk concert, there was a chance that some rowdy people would start a brawl (which did happen, but was fortunately contained and the show went on). So, for the whole show, we just stayed on the mezzanine, far from the madness. Which is probably the reason why, during the second half of the show, I started to feel like I was only watching a concert DVD. I felt detached from the whole viewing experience and it kinda sucked. I so wanted to be in the moshpit even for a few measly seconds. But my play-it-safe nature got the better of me. Still, I enjoyed a good show and was reminded why I love punk!
Since
mzeid beat me to uploading the pictures, you can just visit his
post to view them. I got lucky with one shot that showed the moshpit looking like a spinning nebula.
