Remember this night...for it is the beginning of always

Ok, no more complaining crap in this entry. This has been a very good weekend indeed.

So, we left for College Station Friday night right after DI practice and managed to get there in time for dinner at Freebirds, only the BEST burrito place ever. *sigh* I miss having it every week. Anyway, we stayed at my parents' friends' house, and they had taped the Oscars for me, so I watched a bit of that.

Saturday, we had to wake up pretty early to head for the Rec Center. The 7 Desperados (as the DI team was called) were the second to go. They did pretty well, I mean, how could they not after all that practice? We ended up not finishing two Easy detours because we ran out of time, but everything else went pretty smoothly, compared to some of the disastrous rehearsals we've been having. The kids were a little freaked cause most of the others competing were in Intermediate school, and like seriously bigger. There was this one team that had a tractor powered by gasoline that could go incredibly fast. So to get their mind off the competition, we went to Double Dave's for lunch. Later on, a few minutes before their instant challenge competition, there was some dissension among the group, but they pulled through in the end, thankfully. After that, we went to Gatti-Town and played arcade games and bumper cars for about three hours. I know it's sad, but I am a ten year old kid at heart, so it was at least fun for me. The awards ceremony took forever, but the team ended up receiving the Da Vinci Award for most creative challenge solution and won second. We lost to Caldwell Intermediate, so we're not going to state. But oh well, they did really well and I'm really proud of them. I think there's going to be some kind of party later. The AST teams did well too.

Not much today. We drove back from College Station around 2-ish and then we had a piano recital. That was boring, but we went to The Cheesecake Factory tonight and I had a piece of Toblerone Swiss Chocolate Cheesecake. I think I had too much sugar 'cause my fingers are now shaking uncontrollably and I'm feeling a little woozy. Eh...it's all good.

Yeah, my fun weekend, or at least the most fun weekend I've had in awhile. SATs next week. wOOt.....not.
