West New York, NJ - Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 - Gerard Way, lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance, poses for a portrait near his home in West New York, NJ midday Monday. Way has written a comic book for Dark Horse called "The Umbrella Academy." Way was a cartooning/illustrating major at the School of Visual Arts prior to becoming a bona fide rock star. So this is a Gerard Way: Comic Guy shoot as well as Gerard Way: Rock Star.
Gerard lounging in the sun just looks abnormal. I hope he put on a lot of sunscreen.
This is pretty much the only smile in the entire shoot. OH GERARD.

This whole series with the sun is awesome, but like I said, kind of unnatural.

He's either demonstrating the funky diva again or is waiting for his cape to be delivered so he can take off.

The OTPer in me says "he's waiting for Frank, he's already assumed the position. Just look at the way his hands have fisted in the vines!"
