I must be going through withdrawal, all I can think about knitting is socks. Socks socks socks socks socks. I had the thought that since this 10 Shawls in 2010 thing was such a fun motivation for knitting shawls, I'd like to do something similar with socks, even if there isn't a group for it. 11 in 2011? So I decided to look through my queue and stash and figure out what socks I've been itching to knit and came up with the following:
In progress already that I want to finish: 6 pairs.
Want to start and already have the yarn: 11 pairs.
Want to knit but no yarn as of yet: 1 pair.
Planned as gifts in progress already: 2 pairs.
Planned as a gift, yarn in hand: 1 pair.
Planned as a gift, no yarn yet: 1 pair.
For anyone keeping track, my optimistic little heart would like to knit 22 pairs of socks in the near future. I think my heart might be delusional. I knit 5 pairs of socks in 2010. Not bad, considering it was my first year of sock knitting. I'm not sure 22 would happen. In fact, I'm pretty sure 22 would NOT happen, especially keeping in mind that I would like to join the Rockin' Sock Club again next year, which would mean another 6 pairs.
So what should I do? The Yarn Harlot had a self-imposed sock club where she knit 1 previously picked out pair a month for herself. Should I do the same? Is that enough of a challenge? I think my fastest pair took me 2 weeks to knit, so I suppose it would be. I DON'T KNOW I DON'T KNOW!
Ok, enough. I'm going home to knit now.
