Make the right moves.

Life is good. Well school and math is good, which is pretty much my life. I've come to understand the way to study for advanced math classes. You simply have to sit down with the book, go line by line of what ever you're trying to understand and piece it all logically together. Do this for about 3-4 hours a night and you'll know what i mean. There's not much writing or "calculating" to do. I learned more in my linear class simply by sitting down and reading each line and not moving to the next line without understanding the last. It's quite a good feeling when you really understand a proof, but man those can be some long nights alone at the library. I've ran into a math graduate student and that's exactly what he told me, "be prepared for long nights alone". I'm not saying I hate being alone, when it comes to math, i actually need a lot of time and silence for me to understand things, but man what a life.

So the summer is coming soon? Kinda? And with summer comes fun internships and RMYC! There's a research program at Oakland over the summer for undergraduate mathematics. I'm going to apply simply because it sounds very cool, even though i don't think my background in math is strong enough, but hell, it's worth a shot. One research program is modeling malaria, i believe in the way it spreads and networks itself in it's enviorment. I don't even know, but it just sounds awesome. Helping medicine and people through math, damn life is great. Well, if that falls through, then RMYC for sure, but i might just go to RMYC no matter what. My brain is going to need a break from math.

Is being excited to buy my math textbooks for next semester weird? I can't wait!
