Sundance & the reality check
Richard Conrad Henry
She sits across
the street
tan & classy
in her summer dress
& good pumps
golden watch
& a pearl necklace
she's scribbling
in her diary
like any other
sunny day
and when I
walk over
the wind reads
what she's written
blowing it
my way
'when it rains soup
I'm out there
with a fork'
and then
I get the feeling
Sadness is
never too
far away.
