And in other news ..
So I thought maybe a real update was necessary. I've been in Kent since Saturday, and it's been nice. My apartment is super super cute, I love it to pieces. Randi moves in today, thus why I am up so early, my family will be here in about an hour and 20 minutes or so. It was a late night last night, but a fun one indeed.
More on that later. This week has been full of training for Orientation class, which is why I am here so early. I have a class to teach on Friday. I have 36 students!!!! Craziness. I get to meet my freshmen soon though, so we'll see how things are going to go! :) Hopefully they all show up. My faculty partner said she has yet to see everyone show up to the friday class. My usual class is on wednesday afternoons, right before the seminar I have to take for being a teacher. Woooo.
It's been nice seeing all of my friends. We tried to have a Rhino reunion last night, but it ended up being me, Zesty, Ryan and Kasey. Which WAS fun. Kasey left around midnight, and this kid who lives in Allerton, a building over from me, who is also in Orientation, had a kitty and he had to get rid of it. He couldn't find anyone and he was just going to let it go in the parking lot, but when he said that I almost cried and I begged and pleaded Ryan to take it at least for the night 'til we could get it to a no kill shelter or make some calls and see if people want a kitten. Ryan, who was my instructor last semester for class, has this kitten's sister at his house. He can't keep her though because his one housemate is deathly allergic to cats. So we took the cat to his place and hung out for awhile watching their huge tv with the housemates and the one neighbor, who is his friend/housemate Dave's girlfriend. She was super nice, and very funny. We got along well.
Came home and bummed around on the internet for awhile. Went to bed, now I'm up. Weeee. After I move Randi in today, I'd like to go pick up some detergent, and figure out my lesson plans for tomorrow, do some laundry, and then later on tonight, Kate will be all moved in, and I think we're going to go to Ray's and get a beer, yay! Nick will be around today which will be good b/c I feel like I haven't seen him in forever. So he, Les, Kate and I will hopefully head out tonight. I can't drink a lot though, because I have to teach at 9 am tomorrow. And as Zesty said, the class that I teach is NOT the Saturday class trainer hunt, and I can NOT show up drunk for it. Oopsie. Hahaha.
