WonderJourneyEarl's Anatomy

I'm always a sucker for time travel shows, so I ended up aquiring the first season of a Canadian dramedy called Being Erica. It's quite a lot like Wonderfalls, down to having a similar looking, similarly mannered lead actress playing an overeducated slacker, and the exact same leading actor/love interest, who is even still playing a man fleeing his marriage to his unfaithful college sweetheart. Although this time, instead of fixing other people's problems because inanimate objects talk to her, without much help from her therapist, this time she's fixing her own problems because her magical therapist can send her back in time to re-do events she regrets (in a Journeyman-like way, with the same "Guess The Year from the Songs" game, drawn from a My Name Is Earl-esque list.) Her disapproving, more successful family is Jewish rather than WASPy, her icy blonde sister is a straight doctor rather than a lesbian lawyer, and the older brother is tragically dead and a source of regret, and therefore not around to get involved with the black best friend. It's also a bit less quirky and loopy-- but quirky and loopy is what I like. If there were a Quirky Loopy channel, I would watch it all day.

On the down side, AHHH THE PLINKY CHICK MUSIC IS IN MY EARS AAHHHHH! They don't even bother getting different plinky chick music than Grey's Anatomy. Overall, I'm liking it, but boy, I wish they'd lose the plinky chick music, especially the annoying theme/credit sequence and its cliched hallway of doors with her younger selves popping in and out.
