SAYING GOODBYE #1 of 2

Aug 02, 2011 14:21

I plan two posts today, one, to keep them short, and two, to separate the one about my LJ friends and the one about a lovable old man.
I'll start with the less challenging Goodbye, as I hope it's a temporary farewell.

Many of my online friends are moving due to the difficulties LJ has been experiencing. Since my entries are unimportant, inconsequential, unsubstantial, I'll continue posting here. This is just what the title represents, my online journal. I have unreliable, limited time online, so I don't know if I'll be able to keep up with my departing friends. Hope so. They've enriched my life.

I've learned a lot here, thanks to my LJ friends. I don't do Facebook, don't know a single thing about Twitter. But the personal touch I discovered here has provided quite an education. I've learned things about writing, about people, about me. And more. I've received many opportunities to look at one thing or another with a different perspective.

I recently read about the inherent challenges of simply walking when you can't feel the bottoms of your feet. (Thank you, Peachette.) I gave the concept days of thought. She wins the Wow, Oh, My Gosh award.

I live each day striving to conquer pain, fighting to control the hurting, learning to live life despite the infliction. Now I can celebrate something about the pain. Unlike my somesthesia-suffering friend, I can feel those discomforts. I'm grateful for that eye opener. It's something to celebrate in its own odd way.

So I bid farewell to those leaving LJ, wish them the best of luck, and hope I can find them soon after they go.
