...No, really, it is. The human population of Southern Ontario may be less than pleased with the moderate spring we've been having so far, but the flora - especially the roses - are loving it. You would be surprised, how finicky a plant covered with big tough thorns can be in the matter of growing conditions.
Anyway, I am feeling slightly misanthropic about the planet's dominant life-form at the moment, thanks to the last couple of friending requests I've rec'd on Facebook (hint to prospective pals: Setting your profile to 'Status: Single' and 'Interests: Women' is pushing it just slightly), and so have decided instead to celebrate the lesser, if no less lovely...
(I should add a thank you to the various keen gardeners in and around Leaside/Rosedale/Moore Park, who thus far have been amazingly tolerant of the woman standing in their front yards muttering at the bushes.)
