America's Dairyland

Greetings from the land of beer and cheese! I sort of fell off the face of the planet for a bit, between moving from Chapel Hill to Greenville to Chicago (temporarily) to Milwaukee, but now things are getting a bit more settled. I'm staying in a swank-ass pad on the edge of a not-so-great neighborhood, and my first day of work is Monday.

There's this cool Celtic cross thing at the top, and it's kind of old-timey.

The main room is really open, and there's this great swanky TV/VCR/DVD set up, complete with record player.

The kitchen is all part of the same room, and it's fully equipped. I think the guy who usually lives here used to be a cook, so he has expensive pans and such.

There's a library/study/computer room, too.. pretty swank.
It's sort of arresting how quickly the neighborhoods change around here. We're in a pretty good place, but a few blocks to the north or west gets you into some sketch territory. We've found the Best Buy, a Wal-Mart and a passable grocery store, though we know where a few better ones are. We also found a Panera and a Chipotle. This seems like a pretty interesting city on the whole, and it should be interesting to explore.
