Josh's LiveJournal Strikes Back!

Wow, it's been over a month now since I last posted here. I recall why I stopped posting here, but in hindsight that reason does not seem very valid, so let the new posts begin!

I'm very happy that our two hardest exams (from my perspective) our now over. I'm even happier that I think I did fairly well on both of them. I'm so glad I reviewed the previous ECE-493 final countless times. It seems like this term could be my best in terms of marks.

I have come to the conclusion that concurrency is my favourite CS course so far, and Peter Buhr is my favourite CS prof so far. I'm sad that the course is over. It seems like every Tuesday and Thursday I would look forward to whatever Peter Buhr had to say.

I'm extremely surprised by how well I did on the SE382 Wily assignment. I was fairly certain that I was going to lose a lot of marks for not going into much depth, but I guess who not.

Today I finally received my "relocation" expenses cheque from the RCMP. This is truly one of the perks of working for the RCMP. Based on where you go to university, they pay you a standard amount to relocate to Ottawa. So apparently relocating from Waterloo to Ottawa costs almost $900!! That almost makes up for the month I wasn't able to work.

As some of you probably know, for almost two weeks in May I'm going to be in Florida (at WDW to be specific). Thinking about the trip has made it hard to study sometimes, although if I'm bored, it's an easy way to waste time. For instance, during the ECE final today, I finished about a half hour before the end, but I didn't really want to leave early, so I thought about my upcoming trip to pass the time. Two things I'm really looking forward to on the trip are getting the change to snorkle across a huge aquarium, and getting the chance to ride a Segway.
